On the subject of controversiality[edit]

@Rsk6400: Hey there, edit warring was not my intention, it's simply that when the category is empty it pretty much gets automatically nominated for speedy deletion and I'd prefer we'd have a proper place to discuss this.

This category merely serves as a tool to better sort articles specifically pretaining to the entity known as the "Republic of Crimea". It acknowledges that this is an entity that exists de-facto, and that properly sorting information regarding it could be useful to someone researching the topic. This category exists in many languages on Wikipedia already, including Ukrainian, so I didn't view such an edit to be in any way controversial.

I'm curious to hear your position on this and to try and resolve this conflict. Hecseur (talk) 06:26, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think the proper place to discuss this is at Talk:Republic_of_Crimea#A_new_category_for_this_?, where I continued the discussion. There is no need to keep this category just for the sake of discussing. Rsk6400 (talk) 11:02, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
