The Chery Tansuo 06 or Chery Explore 06 (Chinese: 奇瑞探索06; pinyin: Qíruì Tànsuǒ 06) is a compact crossover SUV produced by Chery since 2023 under the Chery and Jaecoo (for oversea market outside China) brands. It will be rebadged as the Jaecoo 7 or J7 in export markets.
The Chery Tansuo 06 or Explore 06 was first introduced during the Auto Shanghai 2023 as the Chery TJ-1 C-DM prototype.[4]
The Chery Tansuo 06 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. A 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid version rated at 115 kW (156 PS; 154 hp) and 220 N⋅m (22.4 kg⋅m; 162 lb⋅ft) paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) will be available with a pure electric range of over 100 km (62 mi). All-wheel drive is available.[5][6][7]
The vehicle went on sale in Russia in September 2023 as the Jaecoo J7. It is sold through Omoda-Jaecoo dealerships, although some will be standalone Jaecoo dealers.[8] This car is scheduled to mark the introduction of the Jaecoo sub-brand to South Africa as well, when it goes on sale there in the first quarter of 2024.[9]
The interior will be available in black and white with minimum physical buttons, a rectangular instrument panel, a 14.8-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad. The infotainment screen is powered by a Qualcomm 8155 chip and supports FOTA, facial recognition, and a level 2+ driving assistance system.[4]
