Dhartiputra Nandhini is an Indian Hindi-language television drama series that premiered on 27 August 2023 on Nazara TV.[1][2] It was Produced by Dipika Chikhlia[3] under DCT Movies Production. It stars Aman Jaiswal and Shagun Singh. [4]

Plot

The show is about a girl named Nandini who is a farmer's daughter. She loves the land and is willing to go through many struggles to prove her love for it. Nandini meets Sumitra Devi, who is having problems with her family and wants someone to help her grandson, Aakash. Sumitra Devi chooses Nandini to help Aakash, but he fall in love with a farmer's daughter and bring the family together.[5]

Casting

Shagun Singh as Nandini and Aman Jaiswal as Akash were signed as the leads.[12] Dipika Chikhlia Decided to Play the role of Grand Mother. The series marks television comeback of Dipika Chikhlia into Drama after 33 years.[13] She Said , "I Did Not Want To play a maa (mother) or saas (Mother in law) on tv, but in my own production, i am playing a grandmother because the role appealed to me"[14]

The series also marks television comeback of Renee Dhyani after 2 years. She Said, " 'Wanted to do this show so that I could work alongside Dipika Chikhlia Ji who has played the iconic Sita Maa"[15]

Development

In July 2023, the series was announced on Nazara TV by DCT Movies. It was Produced by Dipika Chikhlia.[16]

In July 2023, Dipika Chikhlia visits Ayodhya's Ram Mandir ahead of TV show shoot.[17]

Filming

Principal photography commenced from July 2023 in Ayodya, Uttar Pradesh.[18]
