Kian Breckin (born 10 December 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder. He currently plays for the League One club, Wycombe Wanderers, on loan from Manchester City.
Breckin was first signed by Manchester City at the age of 11, in July 2015.[2] Breckin has progressed through the Manchester City academy since then, which included playing a key role in two U18 Premier League title wins, in 2021 and 2022.[3]
Breckin progressed to Manchester City's Elite Development Squad in 2022. During the following season, he played in 24 league games, as his team won the Premier League 2 title in 2023. Breckin has also played in two UEFA Youth League matches with Manchester City.[4]
On 11 July 2023, Breckin joined Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan deal.[5][6] He made his first appearance for the Buckinghamshire club in a pre-season friendly match against Arsenal U21s, which Wycombe won 1–0.[7] On 5 August 2023, Breckin made his first senior appearance, starting for Wycombe in their 3–0 defeat to Exeter City at Adams Park.[8]
Breckin is related to two former professional footballers. His father, Ian played for Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Wigan and Nottingham Forest, between 1993 and 2011. His great uncle, John also played for Rotherham United, between 1971 and 1983.
Breckin was raised in Rotherham, however the family moved to Sale after he was signed by Manchester City in 2015.[9]
