Nordstern is a Danish property developer and turnkey contractor that develops, constructs, and renovates residential and commercial buildings throughout Denmark.[1]
Nordstern's largest business area is residential construction, with renovation constituting a growing share of the company's portfolio. Nordstern has been involved in projects such as Sluseholmen and Mjølnerparken in Copenhagen, as well as UNITY and Trælasten in Aarhus.
Nordstern is owned by the investment fund ActivumSG and was formed through the merger of CASA and KPC in 2022. The company´s history dates back to 1979.[2]
Nordstern's history began in Herning in 1979 when Kurt Poulsen founded the construction company KPC BYG.[3] In 1990, KPC opened the first office in Copenhagen.[4]
In 2006, Michael Mortensen, Per Hansen, and Peter Rosengreen founded the construction company CASA in Horsens and in 2015 the company opened the first office in Copenhagen.
In 2022, CASA and KPC merged and Nordstern was founded. The former CEO of CASA, Torben Modvig, continued as CEO of the combined company Nordstern.[5]
Today, Nordstern employs around 420 employees across offices and construction sites in Denmark.
As a property developer and turnkey contractor, Nordstern has been involved in projects such as Sluseholmen and Mjølnerparken in Copenhagen, JP/Politikens Hus in Aarhus, Guldminen in Ikast, and Vestsalen FÆNGSLET in Horsens. Additionally, Nordstern has led the construction of the residential high-rise building UNITY[6] in Aarhus and Postbyen in Copenhagen.[7]
Nordstern has also built the Danish football club AC Horsens' home ground, Nordstern Arena Horsens,[8] formerly known as CASA Arena Horsens.
