Ian Barrows (born 14 January 1995) is an American sailor. He is ranked 2nd in the world in 49er.[1]

Life

He grew up on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He graduated from Yale University.[1]

He competed and bore the flag during the opening ceremony for the US Virgin Islands at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, winning gold in the male single-handed dinghy category in the Byte CII.[2][3] He also placed 2nd at the 2008 Optimist World Championships in Çeşme.[4]

He competed at the 2023 Pan American Games, winning a gold medal in 49er class, with Hans Henken.[5] They qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics.[6][7][8]
