Kuhsar (Persian: كوهسار);[3] formerly two independent villages, Chendar (Persian: چِندارو also Romanized as Chendār and Chandār), and Qal'e Soleimankhani (Persian: قلعه سلیمانخانی)[4] is a city in, and the capital of, Chendar District of Savojbolagh County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 7,757, in 2,075 households, when it was in Tehran province.[5] At the time of the 2016 census, the population had risen to 10,940 in 3,321 households,[2] by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[6]
