Laskowa [lasˈkɔva] (feminine noun) is a village in Limanowa County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Laskowa. It is located approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north of Limanowa and 50 km (31 mi) south-east of the regional capital Kraków.[2]
A local tale suggests that a king and his people found a hazel forest here, and he ordered the village to be built, calling it "wieś Laskowa" literally village of hazel.
