Mehdi Bahman (Persian: مهدی بهمن) is an Iranian storyteller, illustrator and researcher in the field of approximation of religions.[1][2][3] He is the author of the story collection "Sarmaye Ostokhan Sooz"[4] and has gilded the Torah, Psalms and Bible.[5] He was arrested during The Mahsa Amini protests on October 11, 2022 and face execution.[6][7][8]
Bahman was arrested during The Mahsa Amini protests on October 11, 2022 by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.[9][10][11] According to Farzad Seifikaran, a journalist and his close friend, Bahman was arrested following a public interview with the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation and was sentenced to death by the Islamic Revolutionary Court on December 24, 2022.[12][13][14] In this court session, he was deprived of the right to have an appointed lawyer and was only able to visit his family once during the detention period.[15][16][17]
