Prinzessin Friederike of Hesse-Darmstadt (Darmstadt, August 20 1752 - Hannover, May 22 1782) was by marriage Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.


Friederike Caroline Luise was the eldest daughter of Prince Georg Wilhelm of Hesse-Darmstadt and Maria Luise Albertine von Leiningen-Dagsburg-Falkenburg.

She married on September 18 1768 Charles II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. They had ten children together.
Two of them become German queen consorts. Louise would marry Frederick William III of Prussia and Frederica would marry Ernest Augustus I of Hanover.

Friederike died due to complications from this last birth.
After her death her husband married her younger sister Charlotte of Hesse-Darmstadt in 1784.
