Gnossiennes
→Etymology: The article suggested that Satie coined the word Gnossiene used in the title. This is incorrect, it had been in the Larousse Dictionary for 20 years at the time of their composition, and the word was widely used in the histories of religion that Satie would have read. I have included several references. I have kept the alternative explanation some people favour referring to gnosis.
