→Northern Africa: The Nubians are a black people that have dwelled between the cities of Aswan and Khartoum. They are not recent sub-Saharan immigrants, but native peoples of the Upper Nile Valley.Tag: Reverted

→Northern Africa: I could not find a single source that references the sultan Ahmad Al Mansur as having a Fulani mother. I did not see a reference to his supposed Fulani heritage anywhere in his other biographies. This may fall in the realm of recent historical revisionism.Tag: Reverted

The official definition of black is of being a darker skinned hue with afro-textured hair. Within 'black' populations, there are outliers with features generally considered as 'non-black,' but can be expressed due to the diverse situation of many human populations, Under the most consevative definition of black, the Niger-Congo, Nilo-Saharan, Khoisan, and Afro-Asiatic (except Semitic) are included under the label as black, due to shared physical features, along with 'similar' looking' Asians.Tag: Reverted

It is important to list the many different groups chategorized as black, so as not to induce confusions from blind terms such as Oceanian (as there are many non-black Oceanian Polynesians, so the term is not an 'ethnic definer') and "Caucasian" populations that dwell below the Sahara.

Early Dynastic Grave sites from Qustul in Lower Nubia reveal the exchange of people, cultures, and ideas throughout the Upper Nile Valley and Nubia, including royal iconography. Skeletal remains in these sites were revealed to be of a similar stock to Upper Egyptians, showing that the two cultures were genetically closely related, along with other Afro-Asiatic populations in North-East Africa.

→Sahara: The Sahara, one of the most inhospitable regions of the world, still thrives with semi-nomadic tribes of Afro-Asiatics/Nilo Saharans who frequent place to place. In the Western Sahara, Berber groups like the Sanhaja and Tuareg prosper, while in the Central Sahara of Southern Libya/Chad, Nilo Saharans, who have inhabited the region since antiquity, make up the majority, being the Toubou, Zaghawa, and Kanuri groups. Finally, in the Eastern Sahara, another group, the Beja, dominates.
