Sunil Kumar Kushwaha alias Sunil Kumar[1] is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Valmiki Nagar, Bihar in the 2020 Bypoll of Valmiki Nagar as member of the Janata Dal (United).[2][3][4][5][6]
His father's name is Baidyanath Prasad Mahto.[3] He started his political career by winning the by election from Valmikinagr Lok Sabha constituency after death of his father, who was the sitting member of parliament from the constituency. In 2024, he was again made the candidate of Janata Dal (United) to contest the Lok Sabha election from this constituency. He faced Deepak Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal. In this election, Bhojpuri singer and actor Khesari Lal Yadav and Vinay Bihari campaigned for him.[7]
