Am I the only who is wondering why 50 Cent's discography page doesn't have albums' covers? IWM 11:01, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
"But rather than create new songs, he decided to showcase his hit-making ability by retouching beats which had already been used.[citation needed]"
today he announced that the 3rd album is "Curtis", the 4th album is "Before I Self Destruct" and the 5th is the "Greatest Hits"
he said this on Hot 97 LightSpeed1 20:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Replaced a word in the Shooting section (a shell hit his right thumb and came out of his pinky)
Rounds are fired from the barrels of guns, not shells. Shells are ejected casings for the bullets that are fired.

It says his full name is "Curtis James Jackson III". At the very least, we know his name is "Curtis Jackson". But where did the "James" and "III" come from? After looking at the edit history here, the "James" was originally added by an anonymous IP who got several vandal warnings about editing middle names. The "III" was later added by another anonymous IP here. It's hard to find a reliable source that confirms his full name since there's so many sites that copy off Wikipedia. So I'm leaving it as "Curtis Jackson" for the meantime. Spellcast 12:26, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
After seeing an extract of his book, From Pieces to Weight, I've changed the name back to Curtis James Jackson III. Spellcast 08:52, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
At the moment, I don't think the shooting incident should be included in the lead-in. If that's put in, why not his jail time? Afterall, the time spent in jail took more time out of his life than the shooting. The Game (rated a good article) was shot 5 times, ended up in a coma yet it's not mentioned in the lead. Spellcast 16:51, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
There's some minor details that should be corrected here. The lead says that after he left drug dealing to rap, he was shot. However, this Blender interview with fans reveals that as he was rehabilitating from the shooting & dropped from Columbia, he went back to drug dealing for a while. And maybe the statement about Dre producing his major successes can be tweaked a little. He produced about 4 tracks and there were other producers too. Spellcast 13:09, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
After opposition to the notes added in good faith to other sections, contributions are welcome to the newly added Trivia section.Itsmeltc 14:54, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I removed the fact that his mother was bisexual because while it's an interesting fact, it doesn't really have anything to do with anything and it seems like you're mentioning it for a reason but you're not (it never comes up again). It's just totally random information with no context. Tayquan hollaMy work 06:17, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Under controversy, shouldn't something be mentioned about the "Ban 50" thing. I don't really get what that thing was about. Oh yea, I think Curtis wore that shirt too, which can definitely be classified as "controversial". I'll look for articles about that somewhere, but in the meantime, someone do the same. This article is starting to become a "good" one. - NJ Rock

I appreciate the attempts to improve the Image:50-cent.jpg pic as an editor has done here with Image:50 cent retouched.png. But I still prefer the former mainly because you can see more. As for a caption? Well if you think one isn't needed since the Michael Jordan page doesn't have one, you can also say that we should have it since the Jenna Jameson page has one. I don't want to get into a lame edit war over a caption but my preference is if it's a free image- include a caption, if it's a promo shot- none necessary. Spellcast 05:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the merge proposal for List of 50 Cent awards and nominations:
Oppose There's no way all those awards are going to be included into this article. Besides, I tried a 'preview' and it makes this article about 37kb too long. Spellcast 22:09, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't know if any of you 50 fans are interested, but he was featured first in the video for Method Man's (!) "Break Ups 2 Make Ups" (1999) with D'Angelo in the club fight scene. It was way before he ever released his first single "Wanksta" (2002). The video is hardly available on the net (youtube has an incomplete version throughout), but it is still broadcasted. If anyone find it sourceable and important to note, maybe it should be included in the article. Lajbi Holla @ me 10:42, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
his first video appearance is with Onyx. In the song React.

This article's getting pretty good, a couple of weeks ago it had a tag on it for prose and was filled with slang. What does everybody say we get it a peer review? I just found about those and think it might be a good idea. Feel free to comment. Tayquan hollaMy work 12:13, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
In the section entitled "Rise to Fame" it is mentioned that Eminem discovered 50 Cent by listening to his album Guess Who's Back? ("Rise to Fame", paragraph 1 line 1) -- "In 2002, Eminem listened to a copy of 50 Cent's Guess Who's Back? CD", it later says, "Impressed with the album, Eminem invited 50 Cent to fly to Los Angeles, where the two of them and Dr. Dre met" -- if anyone could please clarify which album exactly caused Eminem to notice 50 as it mentioned in the article, How to Rob, that he discovered him after listening to the song on 50 Cent's album Power of the Dollar.
Eighth
Well 50's "how to rob" record appeared on Madd Rapper's Tell em why u mad album and so did eminem's "Stir Crazy" Record.
Ok here are some things off the top of my head that can be added under this heading: His wife, son, tattoos, Bush comments, mansion, and wealth. Personal life sections can often be a breeding ground for rumors/speculation/gossip/random facts, so it's important to remove that kind of information, and that it doesn't turn into a 'Trivia' section in disguise. Spellcast 11:51, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
It's good that we at least have a picture for the infobox, but the page would really be improved if there were images of 50 at like a concert or even at some random event. If there are no copyleft photos available by the time this reaches a featured article, we'll probably have to post album covers like on the Mandy Moore page. Spellcast 05:46, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Am I the only one who thinks the external links format here is very messy? Do we need to add things like the G-Unit family, why not keep it to just 50 Cent? Spellcast 08:46, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Everything from "Gangsta Flip" to the part about "Black Child" having a feud with 50 Cent is poorly written, definitely not non-POV ("Bellies the confidence in himself" is definitely not a non-POV statement)(this concerning Domination), and other than here I cannot find anything on the Internet concerning said feuds. I am deleting them until someone can actually cite those. If they are not cited but reinstated I will just have the article protected and before-hand delete them again. Scryer_360 22:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
The prose in the personal life section needs work. It's hard to integrate all those quotes. I can't really see how to do it just yet. Also the whole section is written in his own words which isn't really encyclopedic. Tayquan holla My work 22:07, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Under Rise to fame, it says The Game was signed to G-Unit under a joint venture. And then under Feuds, it says The Game was never signed to G-Unit. How about we get this sorted out? Spellcast 01:28, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Re: "50 Cent, who has 10% ownership of glacéau, is expected to make $400 million after Coca Cola purchased the company for $4.1 billion.[1]"
I've seen a number of blog sources (non-verifiable) talk about how 50 Cent had a 10% stake in Glaceau and when Coca-Cola bought Vitamin Water, 50 Cent would receive over $400MM. There's simply nothing anywhere showing this to be true. 50 Cent did help create a flavor based on his name, but no official source talks about any ownership of the company or the size of the stake. A link to HipHopDX is included as a citation, but that's a blog. Anyone can write it. It seems this is being reverberated (see here) but not corroborated. I am deleting it off the page. Why isnt there a rapping technique section in this article like the one in The Notorious B.I.G. article.--Peterm1991 19:24, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Since this was reverted a few times, I thought I'd get a concensus here. Should dates be added to the years he was active on each label? I prefer the format the way Template:infobox musical artist says to do, which is to omit parenthetical dates and save it for the main article, but not everyone may agree. Any thoughts on this? Spellcast 02:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
In a different edit, the labels that he was previously signed to (Jam Master Jay & Columbia) was removed, but why only put his current labels? If we were to only put the labels he's currently on, does that we mean we should remove Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit/Interscope when he retires? Afterall, we're documenting his history, not just current events. Spellcast 05:59, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
His previous labels should be in the infobox but with date of when he was on that so itdoesn't look like he is currently on a label he is'nt.--Shadyaftrmathgunit 12:32, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for adding the dates again, i look at the template and you were right.--Shadyaftrmathgunit 22:50, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

I was looking over the ventures sections and I think the sub-headings are kind of unecessary. See Michael Jordan#Media figures and business interests and others. He was really only shot 3 times.the police report checks that out.Even a newspaper article proves it.Someone needs to change that lie.Somebody has to tell the truth. If you dont believe me go to smoking gun.com to see the police report
u dont understand, if read correctly it says on smoking gun he was shot three times on right (side of his body) which he was, besides, we cant go with it as too many other accounts cancel out, besides theres a bullet scar on his back, that makes it at least four - NJ Rock
It's not worth repeating all this again, but read the discussion above under 'Shooting numbers' and watch the video of him showing more wounds than what's said in The Smoking Gun. That source doesn't even show the full report. It says "three shots hit the victim on the right" and then the sentence gets cut off. 50 obviously wasn't only shot on the right side of his body when he shows a closeup wound on his left cheek. You can even see a dimple every time you look at his left cheek. To put it simply, this whole thing about him only being hit 3 times comes from people who just don't like the guy. http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,21982577-5001026,00.html Very obvious he's lipsyncing, especially when he's somehow talking while taking off his jacket. This should be added to the article immediately. This man is not a rapper, he's an opportunist taking us all for a ride. - The Skunk 06:09, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think probably most singers know days lip sync, jeez even eminem was lip syncing when he was on the Jay Leno performing some song (many years ago 5+?)it showed him lowering the mic but then eminem was still singing (background) he quickly raised his mic casually like he was really singing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.17.165 (talk) 05:55, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

50cent was not shot nine time's he heard nine but was hit three times. There are medical records a ,news paper article and a police report to support this information.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.236.0.169 (talk • contribs).
Yes that's a great way for an anon to show they're being objective: vandalising another talk page. Anyway, refer to archive 3. Common sense tells you that when you have a video of 50 showing more bullet wounds than what's said in a written report, then obviously the written report doesn't explain the full extent of the injuries. Spellcast 07:01, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

This is the first page of a police host computer printout, you don't know what is on the following pages. This proofs nothing! Next to that, this print is old news. DiehardDanny 23:33, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Using conventional logic, it stands to reason that if there is a document, regardless if it's old, that states he was shot 3 times. Perhaps, its' a more credible source than someone, even Fiddy himself, claiming that he was shot 9 times. Common sense also tells you not to believe everything that shows up in the form of a video. There is such a thing that's called make-up, they use it on TV sometimes. However, it seems that most people editing this article are hell bent on believing the popularized version of the story than the truth. If truth is the intent, one would be compelled to find the full police report to once and for all put the matter to rest. 76.173.197.148 09:41, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
That report is clearly a phoney. It has so many spelling mistakes I find it hard to believe a policeman wrote it. Look at what is highlighted in red. "VECTIM", one mistake amongst many. People who hate 50 cent still wont believe that so heres the concrete proof. Look at the document provided by the link. The date of the alleged shooting on the doc says "Day:THU" implying thursday. Next to that it says 05:24:00. The 24th of May 2000 was a wednesday. Scroll back on ur computers calender and check. The new york police dont make that many mistakes in a report. Give them some credit, the computer system they use will at least generate the correct date for them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.56.107.73 (talk • contribs)
I think Mobb Deep should stay an as associated act in the infobox and as well as my name goes i have made it into a different thing, i now go by bulletprof 50 cent and i am trying to get my group(G-unit) to keep up with it. This MTV source says they all had each others name tatted on their hands & wrists to apparently "prove their loyalty". Spellcast 04:06, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
i am sure in the near future 50 cent will not be remembered. but alot of the rappers wont . we will tell our grandchildren about this and they will give us the same look we give our parents and grandparents. but for now he is still here and bringing us great music so enjoy it while it lasts cause sooon we will have different music we will be listening to and different people we will be admiring .
There's a mugshot picture of 50 Cent in a website holding onto a board which says his name and what date he was arrested: 8/23/94, which is 23rd August 1994. Someone should check the article of when he was arrested- SCB '92 14:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
All right, to avoid an edit war here over which image to use, Spellcast has asked me to choose either one of these two. Image:50-cent.jpg or Image:50 cent retouched.png. I would choose the second, because that is the one that the article is using right now, and I honestly see no problem with it. Hope this helps. --- Realest4Life 12:22, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I think that we should create a 50 Cent Filmography page. I have not been able to find an existing one. Also there is film information in his discography page.
Thanks --The-G-Unit-Boss 18:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
so according to the definition the discography shouldn't include film information.

Just name it "50 Cent discography and filmography". If that doesn't work, leave all the filmography information in this article. --- Realest4Life 15:16, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
