Google for kate.garry.hudson yields about 580 results, so I reinserted the middle name. Please give a good reason (here) for removing it. --Taejo 20:53, 20 September 2005 (UTC)
I was wondering if we had any kind of better picture that we could get for this article? JackO'Lantern 05:21, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
I am actually VERY sure that the picture is of Judy Greer not Kate Hudson.
Does anyone have a reliable source (i.e. not the IMDB or trivia sites that copy us or them) that her paternal grandparents were Sicilian immigrants? This interview [1] is the only reliable source where Hudson says she is part Italian (and Hungarian and Jewish). Mad Jack 05:22, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
My cousin Roseanne went out with one of the Hudson brothers in the 60s and that's when I first heard that he was of Sicilian ancestry. Not exactly a reliable source, would be considered hearsay in a court of law - but I'll keep digging. [Anonymous] 01:25, 24 June 2006 PST
sicilians are italians...
She said at Corriere della Sera (most important italian newspaper) father is neapolitan...
One of Kate's (in my opinion) best films was About Adam, yet it seems to be not referenced on her filmography. What gives?
It was on CNN this morning that she is splitting from Chris Robinson. I am not a great writer or into the wiki thing so I will let some one else edit this into the article, just giving you guys the heads up.
Here's a link: http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/14/hudson.reut/index.html
Hello, the biography section of the page has been vandalised, and I cannot see the content in the editor to change it. Can someone look into this? Also this discussion page was edited with the comment "is it true that she is a nigger?" left at the bottom.
Thanks, Chris. EDIT: this has now been removed!

I previously changed this to just "American actress" but it has since been changed back. I wanted to get some discussion here as to which form should be used. The article states she is not very religious (and also practiced Buddhism) and that her father's ancestors are English and Italian, while her mother's are Hungarian Jewish, although the Goldie Hawn article lists Hawn as only having Jewish ancestry on her mother's side (so she is, at most, a "quarter Jewish" American actress). Consequently, I think labeling her "Jewish American" makes little sense; in fact, I think combined terms like that only really make sense if someone can really be associated with multiple countries (i.e., "Einstein was a German-American scientist") or if their ethnic identity is a major, notable part of who they are (i.e., "Joe Pesci is an Italian-American actor"). Kate Hudson fits neither, so we could just as easily write "Hudson is an Italian-Jewish-Buddhist-Hungarian-English American actress". I think we should just leave them all out. The remainder of the article addresses her "Jewishness" quite well without the puzzling introductory sentence.
I have once again removed the adjective but would welcome any thoughts on the matter. --SuperNova |T|C| 23:20, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
That's ridiculous. So a person with only 50 of 100 Jews in ancestry is more Jewish than person with 99? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ymirbayed (talk • contribs) 17:10, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
Very simple: she belongs to judaism, it means, she is jewish. Monroe has no jewish ancestry at all, but she was jewish because of her religion — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.69.54.173 (talk) 08:03, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
There are alot of people who are identified as Jews in the opening sentence. Even Kate describes herself as a Jew and an American so if she is identified as an American in the opening sentence, then she can be identified as Jewish.
Mad Jack 18:14, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Then how come in other people's opening paragraphs, they say that they are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, etc?
Her father's last name was anglicized to "Hudson" from a presumably Sicilian surname. Goldie Hawn's mother was an Ashkenazi Jew who happened to be of Hungarian extraction. She's not Hungarian. I don't claim to be Russian, Polish, Czech, Romanian and Lithuanian just because my Jewish ancestors lived there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.94.42.235 (talk) 00:47, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Wouldn't you think this info is important enough to mention on the 1st paragraph? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 17:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
I just edited the sentence about her pregnancy. I wanted to remove it completely, although I can see there's been a lot of editing about it. In my view, it's too speculative to include in the article. As I reworded it to conform to the articles, it's based on unnamed sources. It would be better to wait for something more definitive. Unless there's a clear consensus to leave it in, I plan to remove it.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:13, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
