Per DerbyCountyinNZ the criteria for a verified list entails that it must be "validated by modern standards." Accordingly, Magdalena Oliver Gabarro was removed from the List of the verified oldest people. By the same respect, I have removed Gustav Gerneth, Valerio Piroddi, Richard Arvin Overton, Toichi Sasaki, Clarence Matthews, George Feldman, Tsunahei Ogawa, Zhou Youguang, and Kameo Oya from this list as they also would not qualify. There cannot be two sets of guidelines for two "verified" lists based on whim.TFBCT1 (talk) 02:38, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In that case you might want to change Overton's page, it says his age is verified so I don't know why it wouldn't then belong here. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 04:22, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It seems kind of major to take 7 people off this list without getting a consensus first. I don't think doing this is a good idea without having consensus. JasonPhelps (talk) 01:43, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, as Overton's page clearly states he's verified, so I'm confused why he isn't still included on this list. It's likely the same can be said for other people removed but I haven't explored it that deeply. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 16:39, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No it does not, his article states he is the oldest verified living US war veteran, it does not say that his age has been "validated by modern standards" (e.g. by Guinness or the GRG) as required for inclusion in this article. DerbyCountyinNZ(TalkContribs) 03:04, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Multiple news sites cover Richard Allen Overton, so surely he should be placed on this page. 80.42.172.66 (talk) 20:30, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The GRG added him to their validated list on his 112th birthday so he has now been included. DerbyCountyinNZ(TalkContribs) 08:37, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I miss Gustav Gernath from Germany. Born 15. October 1905. He is in the Wiki List of oldest living people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lenz2000 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that he appears on other Wikipedia lists, so something is wrong somewhere Lebensol (talk) 15:41, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am wondering why Gustav Gerneth from Germany is not on the list when he appears on other Wikipedia list at 112 years 198 days Lebensol (talk) 15:39, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
