FYI: Adam submitted the following request via Wikipedia:Requests for page protection:
It is now protected. -- Viajero 09:34, 13 Feb 2004 (UTC)
This doesn't look good, since it's linked from Main Page, when we give the idea that "any page can be edited"... Dysprosia 09:41, 13 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Thankyou for the explanation. I unprotected this because there seemed no good reason for it to be protected and (at that time) there was no mention of it on the list of protected pages. Having seen (as a result of the edit conflict I ran into on that page) that you were only part-way through the process, Vajero, I have, as a courtesy, reverted myself and re-protected the page, at least for the time being.
Looking at the page history, it has had fewer vandalism attacks in the last 2 or 3 days than the George Bush pages get in 2 or 3 hours. Protected pages are an evil to be minimised so far as possible and I can see no good case for protecting it, but I thought I'd let this comment sit here for an hour or two before I unprotect it again in case someone has a a more compelling reason to urge protection for it. Tannin 09:43, 13 Feb 2004 (UTC)
OK, no takers with a case for protection, so I'll unprotect it now. Tannin 11:45, 13 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Some of the recent edits (particularly by User:124.254.69.19) are unreferenced and biassed in tone. These need to be tidied up or removed pronto. Waggers 18:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
how about a section detailing some of pete's lies, like those regarding the water grid, making it legal to lie in parliament, etc?
I have twice posted links to media articles in the external links section relating to Mr Beatties intention to retire only to have had it erased. I will be emailing Admin asking this page be looked at closely. Too many good things about this self confessed "media tart" and not enough ballance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.49.232.165 (talk • contribs)
Hi WikiTownsvillian, With so much negative media about Peter Beattie in cyberspace one can only wonder why this page mainly features the little good Beattie has done. Given the heavily publicised water crisis we have in queensland due to his negligence and the continual deaths within his public health system due to his negligence and now the terrorist link to one of his public servants within his public health system, and the announcement that he is stepping down as Premier in Queensland, one will certainly come to the conclusion that those who edit this page are politicaly bias. Maybe editors should visit http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/ to name but one source.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.49.232.165 (talk • contribs)
Surely there's a better picture to be used than a blurry, over-cropped shot in front of a brick wall. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.240.242.208 (talk • contribs)
Sorry if I've made too many edits to the page, I'm a newb and just discovered the Preview button as well as the Minor Edit option. The updates I've been making are mostly adding citations and internal links. Glennd83 16:01, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

These are some ideas to expand the article further. If I have time I will start adding this info in with appropriate citations. Brisvegas 09:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
His first act as Opposition leader was to move a motion in Parliament preventing the new Coalition government under Rob Borbidge from calling an early election. Labor feared that an early election could give the Coalition an outright majority. The motion carried.

Quite subjective; some sections need more sources and objective information TVil93 (talk) 06:54, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
