Removal of phrase for which it is unlikely for there to be reliable, published sources[edit]
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
What I think should be removed: and received Dzogchen teachings and transmissions from Dudjom Rinpoche, during his visit to California in 1980.[citation needed]
Why it should be changed: details regarding attendance at such teachings are rarely available in reliable public sources

Done. With regards to the Tarthang Tulku line starting "prior to this"... biographical material should be presented chronologically, so when does this actually fit into the timeline - and can it be sourced? Skyerise (talk) 21:36, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent question. I see now that even “Annals of the Nyingma Lineage in America”, covering 1969-1975, by Dharma Publishing, states that it is “Published February, 1975 as a private document” which makes it useless ( I assume.) The time frame associated with Nyingma Institute etc was a little later, spread out between 1978 and 1984 (so I missed that release),, so indeed it would go before the zen part.
If citing Nyingma Institue (who have all records, and were cited previously to demonstrate they basically still offer these programs), is insufficient, suggest we drop that sentence entirely, until, if and when, an appropriate printed source is found. Sorry for my error on my submittal in making that assumption…appreciate you identifying it and your considerable help on getting this to meet Wikipedia standards. Cite given source for (a) subject’s date/location of birth and (b) for employment start date (and summary of job scope) at Deutsche Bank[edit]
What I think should be changed: Add (requested) references for subject’s (a) date of birth/city of birth and (b) career start date by citing official employment certificate (“Zeugnis”, issued on August 31, 1973, by employer, Deutsche Bank, AG, Frankfurt/Main, Germany.) The reference for (a) should be cited in “Early years”, the reference for (b) should be cited in the “Engineering and education” section (directly after “Deutsche Bank”, or perhaps, as the first of more citations (still to come)) at the end of the paragraph; in addition, the date range should be updated from “1972[citation needed]” to “1973” as 1972 is incorrect.)
Why it should be changed: To provide requested citations from independent and reliable source(s), which also (importantly) verify software engineering element of employment.
References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): Employment Certificate (German: 'Zeugnis'), issued by Deutsche Bank, AG, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1973, quoting (all bold scripts are as in the original) "DEUTSCHE BANK, AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT: Zeugnis, Herr Peter Barth, - geboren […] 1956, New York - trat am 1. März in unsere Dienste. A Google translation of this, retrieved 01-22-2024, is as follows: "Mr. Peter Barth, - born [...] 1956, New York - joined our service on March 1st. He initially completed a two-month internship in our central data center, during which he was familiarized with the activities of an operator on the Siemens IT systems 4004/45, 4004/55 and 4004/150 with remote data processing. We then took Mr. Barth into the software group of our IT organization department with the aim of introducing software manufacturers - and our users - to the techniques[…]. References must be publicly available documents, published in books or journals, available for purchase or in libraries. They should be secondary, not primary, documents. In this case, one would expect coverage in, for example, a trade journal. If no secondary source has taken note of the employment, it is not considered a notable fact that should be included in a biographical article. Skyerise (talk) 10:26, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I think should be changed: and resulted in his election to the scientific research honor society Sigma Xi. (append after "…(UVM) in Burlington,[existing citation], or simply just add the new proposed citation after the existing citation, with no change to page text.)
Why it should be changed: Text was previously accepted, pending additional citation to a reliable, independent (third-party) source. The newly provided source allows direct verification of both (a) subject’s completion of M.S. Degree and (b) recognition of notability of subject’s scientific research by Sigma Xi."

What I think should be changed: Add citation of a reliable, independent “institutional” source (which is provided per "Wikipedia:GLAM/Metropolitan New York Library Council/citation", addressing "special collections and archival resources", meets both 1) "good information", and 2) the requirement it is from a “respective, authoritative organization” criteria) for subject’s B.S. Degree at Oneonta university in the “Early life and education” section.”
Why it should be changed: Requested by an editor for verification of subject’s B.S. Degree in physics

What I think should be changed: Add citation in “Religious career” section directly after “Upon its publication, the Library Journal called it, "perhaps the most accessible book of the Tibetan tradition.” (if preferred, add citation without the additional quote provided to the proposed tag.)
Why it should be changed: Editor requested citation to a reliable, independent (third-party) source for quote in text.

Much of this book will appeal to open-minded seekers in other traditions. Because it is perhaps the most accessible book available from the Tibetan tradition, seminary and public libraries may want this work.
