You questioned the reliability of the sources saying as such; however, the CNN source you quote indicate the same as the sources whose reliability you question: "sources said he planned to join the Trump campaign as a surrogate once a nominee was confirmed by the Senate", meaning as a campaign surrogate he would not be ambassador to Germany or envoy to Kosovo any longer.. Axios/Politico ( https://www.axios.com/trump-nominates-rep-john-ratcliffe-for-intelligence-chief-3dd01d84-8114-4df0-aa89-86a18dc0e4c3.html ) have contradictory stories as it appears Grenell may already be out of his job as Amb to Germany (*former amb to Germany*), which is a bit unusual but not super noteworthy either way. Consensus is Grenell leaves the admin once Ratcliffe's confirmed. As such, I have removed the RS template. 100.2.48.168 (talk) 23:32, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- If you had read my ES, you would know it wasn't the content, it was the source. Odd that IP editor who, recordly started editing 17:29, 2 May 2020, with a grand total of six edits before leaving this edit here, would presume a WP:NOCON source would be better than the wp:GREL they mentioned ... I have reverted and left ES pointer. X1\ (talk) 04:13, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
- Try to assume good faith.. HuffPost is owned by Verizon Media. If anything DCexaminer's pro Trump, so a Grenell defender such as yourself would most likely be happy it be used. Reliability section says it's unclear how reliable these sources are but in this case they are backed up by the Nytimes. Also, the CNN article you posted indicated Grenell would leave Trump admin to join Trump campaign. Powerrranger (talk) 22:50, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
The above relates to my edit. X1\ (talk) 00:49, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
See Michael Flynn.

Per the above, I removed the sentence below, as it appears out-of-date &/or in error:
On May 12, 2020, Grenell declassified the names of Obama administration officials who unmasked Michael Flynn[clarification needed],[1][2] and on May 19, 2020, Grenell declassified an email that Obama's national security advisor Susan Rice sent to herself.[3]

The statement "He is considered a staunch Trump loyalist" has been added and deleted from the lead (and recently re-added). It seems that there is disagreement over this. In an effort to find consensus, I've opened this section for discussion. Thanks Ism schism (talk) 01:11, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
