Can anyone tell us when the program "Exploding Cop" appeared? I saw it in Britain in 1998. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.172.64 (talk) 13:22, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Disney acquired the Muppets from the Henson family in February 2004, allowing the characters to gain broader public exposure than in previous years."
But before that, the Muppets had decades of constant play on network TV, and were already essentially universally recognized. I'm not convinced that the claim of broader exposure even qualifies as a possibility in practical terms. TooManyFingers (talk) 23:08, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We should have an article just called Muppet[edit]
The Muppets franchise isn't the only franchise that uses the Muppets. Sesame Street and Fraggle Rocks use Muppets too, but they aren't apart of the franchise. So, we should have an article just called Muppet about what a Muppet on its own is, and this article can be about the Muppets franchise. Thomasfan1000 (talk) 20:09, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Technically they can't call the Fraggles Muppets anymore, but I get what you're saying, that an article about the general design concepts in puppetry that Jim Henson innovated and how these three franchises have implemented those designs, and the definitions of the types of puppets used (rod-hand, live-hand, full-body, and, in later works, animatronics) could be interesting. I don't know if that should be a separate article or incorporated here, though. oknazevad (talk) 03:47, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's probably best to start with adding such information here, and if it gets too big or distracting, it can be be split off. BilCat (talk) 04:36, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
