OK, I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm trying to link to this Los Angeles Times article as a reference: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-hometown-newspaper-20130811,0,7434432,full.story But I'm getting error messages. This page should not be speedily deleted because it is highly unusual for a newspaper to be produced using Linotype in 2013. That makes this newspaper notable. It was the subject of an article in the Los Angeles Times, which is an independent, reliable source. --Pha telegrapher (talk) 18:32, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
I'd like to add that I'm not connected to this paper in any way -- I'm the publisher of a small-town weekly in Pennsylvania. I just read the LA Times article, thought it was interesting that someone was doing this with Linotype in 2013 and looked to Wikipedia to learn more. When I saw no article about this paper, I decided to create one. Pha telegrapher (talk) 18:41, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
OK, I tried adding a second reference: http://www.9news.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=83225&catid=222 I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Pha telegrapher (talk) 18:57, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Today this article was featured in the "Did you know" section of the Wikipedia main page. Many thanks to Binksternet and Eric for their help. This has been fun. This is what I want more of from Wikipedia: Fun. I edit some pretty difficult WP articles and it is not any fun at all. I do it from a sense of responsibility as a member of the human race...who act pretty badly a lot of the time. Dean Coombs from Saguache, Colorado is acting pretty good. So is my new friend Anne at the Saguache Reality office who I talked to per phone for a pretty long time this morning because I'd been unable to get a hold of Dean... :)
But I finally got through to Dean this morning (not surprising at all--he has no answering machine) who had been very busy setting type for Thursday's edition. We "chatted". I mentioned the internet. I said he should get it. We both laughed. I'll watch and if Dean puts an article in the the Saguache paper next week I'll let all of his new friends know. Gandydancer (talk) 22:26, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
