Sad interesting story, on good sources, I can read the German ones, no copyvio obvious. I prefer the original hook, but think we should say something like age 9, or the way from school as in the alt. I believe we can say "was found" instead of "would be located" if we begin " ... that ... disappeared, but". - In the article, there are sentences where I think the tense is wrong, when someone confesses but that was sooner. Please check if you can find them, two of those. I fixed the dates to day/month format. I'm not happy with a one-sentence paragraph. What do you think about an infobox, as in the linked Madeleine case? We are close. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:01, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Normally, I would not ping you for this, but I realized there was a major error in the article. There was a lack of information that may have confused people. I fixed it. Maybe this explains the issue with tenses? I also proposed an alternate hook.
ALT2: ... that after Peggy Knobloch disappeared on the way home from school in 2001, her body was not located until 2016? Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/peggy-knobloch-remains-german-9-year-old-found-woods-after-15-year-search-a7123211.html
I will do my best for the infobox. Thanks. Scorpions13256 (talk) 17:20, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
You are right. I suggest you tell the story in more chronology, in which the "confession" comes before the search in Turkey, and then the trial to achieve that the confession was coerced, and the sentenced man possibly not able to catch that girl, and then finding the body. About tense: "After his mother interrogated him about it, he admitted to molesting Peggy Knobloch." That doesn't wotk, it would mean that he molested while admitting, - has to be "When his mother interrogated him about it, he admitted to have molested Peggy Knobloch" because that happened before the interrogation. "On the day of her disappearance, he claimed to walk up to her to apologize for his earlier actions." - that also doesn't work. On the day, he claimed nothing. Could by "He stated that he approached her on the day of her disappearance, to apologize for his earlier actions." - Different question: can we call it "kidnapping" at all, if there was no request for money? Isn't it just "Disappearance"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
ALT2 is fine. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:16, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes, we can call it a kidnapping. Anytime a person is wrongly moved to another location against their will is kidnapping. Ransom is not a requirement. I also fixed the two tenses you suggested, but there may be more. I will also rearrange the article in one second and get the infobox. Scorpions13256 (talk) 20:41, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
Update. I added the infobox. I just removed the information about the search in Turkey. I might add it back another day. I got vaccinated recently, and I am quite tired. Are there any other problems that need to be addressed? Scorpions13256 (talk) 23:09, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
The hook is fine. Congrats to the vaccination. Details only to be considered:
  • I'm not sure that "False lead" is the best header, actually think none is needed. "Background" is also not needed", nor "Later development".
  • I'd add "boy" to "seven-year-old".
  • It's not clear that "his" in "his mother" refers to the molester or the victim.
  • I'd add that whe the body was discovered there we hopes to find evidence to resolve the case.
  • I'd add to the lead that the case was shelved.
For 7 May if possible. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:14, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
I wonder if the article name should be Disappearance of Peggy Knobloch, like for Maddie. That should be done before DYK day, not during it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:19, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
