This template (UK + GB station infoboxes) was considered for deletion on 2 March 2012. The result of the discussion was "keep".
In a recent edit to this template, the documented (({original))} parameter has been replaced by an undocumented (({company))} parameter. Whether intentional or not, this needs to be addressed to ensure backwards compatibility with the previous version. --Dr Greg (talk) 17:20, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the 'Local Authority' heading in the infobox back to the original 'Area' title, which is what it always had been before the recent changes. My reasons for not having LA originally is because for most of these disused stations the current local authorities did not exist at the time of closure. I realise 'Area' may be a bit vague, but I was trying to avoid a word that is relevant only to a specific period of time. Anyone have any better suggestions? --- Dreamer8416:53, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It would be useful if an entry could be added to the template allowing for usage figures to be entered (where available), e.g. for Etruria which closed in 2005. Lamberhurst (talk) 22:44, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi all; thanks for this template which I've copied to wiki-cy (Welsh language) and used here. However, it's calling a module, using Luna, but doesn't tell me which one to copy. Why has templates become much more complicated for smaller wikis? Hypothetical question! Thanks for any help. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 18:34, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's calling up a portal icon on en. We have no portal on cy (or any other language, as far as I know. Please be aware of other wikis while writing your templates! Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 18:37, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. Refreshed the page this morning, and your suggestion was not there; it is now! Many thanks. I've copied the suggested Module:Portal/images/r from en to cy, with no luck. IMHO the copying over of ALL templates could be done automatically, if a language opts for that. Some templates I've done have had over a hundred subtemplates, which means wasting a whole afternoon, just for one template. Things (with Lua) are getting more complicated, and not less. There, I feel better now; nice clear chest! Coming back to this one. The same error is still there (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module `Module:Portal/images/r' not found.) even though the module has been copied. Thanks RedRose, once again! @Llywelyn2000: The template being called was cy:Nodyn:Portal-inline which invokes the Lua module cy:Modiwl:Portal. Just in case the internal Lua calls don't play nicely with namespace aliases (although they should), I replaced occurrences of 'Module:' with 'Moodiwl'. It seems to also need cy:Modiwl:Portal/images/aliases and cy:Modiwl:Portal/images which I've created from the corresponding en-wp modules. I checked cy:Gorsaf Reilffordd Rhuthun which seems ok now, but perhaps someone could check more pages on cy-wp? P.S. the cy:Nodyn:Infobox UK disused station still shows an error, but that's because the code doesn't catch the error when it's invoked on a page in the template namespace. That could be fixed later as it's merely cosmetic - as long as the infobox works in mainspace. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 12:52, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Dave.Dunford: The way that you did it is wrong in several respects. If you look at the documentation for ((Infobox UK disused station)) you'll see that the |embedded= parameter is not mentioned at all; if you had WP:PREVIEWed your edit before saving it, you would have seen the error message
Also, if you look at the documentation for ((Designation list)), you also misused that template as well. It is far easier to stick with documented parameters, and for Infobox UK disused station there are six that are designed specifically for the information that you are attempting to squeeze in by other means. Here is my fix. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:21, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Thanks for that. I overlooked the listing parameters (I searched the template page for "grade" and "listed" but not "listing"). I saw the preview error when I attempted to use an embedded template but left it in place while I sought advice here. Thanks for putting me straight.
