Iconic figure, complex topic
The most popular album in this list is obviously Wish You Were Here, although it is not an album strictly about Syd Barrett, nor the band has never claimed it was dedicated to him, but it is a concept album that follows themes closely related to Syd Barrett, his permanence in the band, and his departure (see the concept of this album, and the topic of Syd Barrett). Also, this album contains the song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", which is absolutely about Syd Barrett and occupies almost 70% of its length, giving it even quantitatively the right to be an album included here.
An album (or the work for what it was made for) is considered "dedicated" if that was clearly stated somewhere. The same is for an album "about Syd Barrett", if the references in most of the songs don't give enough evidence themselves. If most of the songs are cover versions of Syd Barrett songs (or sound-alikes of them), it is implied that it is a cover album.

In this list the word movie is used for a fictional film, while a work has to be considered a documentary if not otherwise specified. If no director was credited, who had a major role in the creation is listed (to be precise, Elliot Riddle was the editor of the work, while Mark Radcliffe, John Harris and Chris Berrow were the presenters).
Note that the titles may have beeen changed through the various editions ramaining basically the same work, like for the 2001 documentary Syd Barrett: Crazy Diamond, changed in The Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story for its DVD release.
The single interviews are listed in the next section Essays / Articles / Interviews. The shorter video clips are in the section Other works in video format.

Four works with short homemade footages where Syd Barrett was filmed in 1966, 1967, 1969, and 1998 are omitted in the list above because of the lack of independent (non-Syd Barrett) work required in their creation in order to consider them proper works about Syd Barrett, although a bit of extra footage and non-original music have been added in order to adorn their public release in more recent years. Them would be part of the Syd Barrett videography, in this case practically a poor addition to the Pink Floyd videography until 1968. Anyway they are listed here separately:
Among the other works not properly published but available on the internet, there are these two 10-minutes documentaries by IndicaUnlimited:
Then, it would follow the third IndicaUnlimited's video Magnesium Proverbs 3, edited basically to accompany "Astronomy Domine", so it is a video clip that would fit better in the section Other works in video format.
Only the most important articles are listed (e.g., the title appeared on a front cover).
The interviews are with Syd Barrett where not specified otherwise.

Among the various articles on the internet not published in Books or magazines, there are the transcriptions from the interviews in the documentary The Thing About Syd (July 2007) and from the 1967 Syd Barrett interview by Thomas Lopez (Nov. 2007) (which was trascribed also by Rob Chapman in an unpublished part of his biography).
Only the paintings/drawings which appeared in an exhibition are listed. The photo shoots listed were an important part of the printed publication where they appeared, and some of the photos from them were published later in books, magazines and large-sized photographs.[179][180] The most extemporaneous photo shoots are excluded (e.g. the ones not made in a studio).

The animation "Syd Barrett Visits His Accountant" is the only video clip properly published, since it was webcast by Frederator Studios on November 15, 2007, as 9th epidode of the series The Meth Minute 39.[182] In regard to other animations available on the internet, these are two examples:
Using slideshows to accompany Syd Barret songs as a music video is a common thing for the large number of self-made videos on YouTube, but a bit of originality can be found, for example, in the ones that use different songs:
The video The String Quartet - A Classic Rock Tribute To Pink Floyd PART 1 (2010, 7 min 43 sec) includes original shots between a live performance of instrumental covers with strings and piano.
The shots of live performances with audience are listed in the section Other performance works, while the other cover versions, though within a video, should be listed in the separate article List of cover versions of Syd Barrett songs.
The constructions of websites devoted to Syd Barrett, in order to host and share news, comments, artworks, etc., aside from thee blogs already listed in the above section Blogs / Fanzines, are the most demanding digital works not already discussed. The reference websites among the Syd Barrett fan communities were and are:
In this section are considered also the digital audio files traded or sold only in digital formats like MP3, FLAC or SHN, but not including a release of a musical work.
Although every Syd Barrett recording should not be considered a work about him but rather a work of his own, sometimes the work to assemble a large selection can be considerable. Every official compilation album or box set belongs to the Syd Barrett discography, which counts 69 recordings, but in early 2000s the Yahoo group Laughing Madcaps started to trade a series of CDs, with SHN files, with the purpose of having available in a single collection an all-embracing selection of the recordings previously available only in traded or sold bootlegs: the first 10 discs of the series called Have You Got It Yet? include 118 bootleg recordings, 68 edited version/remixes, 17 interviews/documentaries. Other 11 discs were made around in 2003, with 1 disc with all the Syd Barrett photos availabe on the internet, 1 disc with 20 unreleased covers, already listed in the section Albums (Apr. 2003), and discs with 36 videos, 115 covers and 25 related songs.
