When editing on Wikipedia (and using Firefox) use the built in spell checker, it makes life so much easier on the other editors, plus if you're not native to a language, you can still write without spelling mistakes. (Dictionaries for Firefox can be found here: [[2]]
When writing an article about something in your neighborhood, consider taking pictures of it and uploading them free to use by everyone.
Observations
Quality over quantity, this is, after all, an encyclopedia.
Anything that ends with "count" (e.g. editcount) turns quite a lot of people on.
Wikipedia needs a bouncer that redirects companies to the Yellow Pages, as they seem to confuse them with Wikipedia.
Odd that the tiniest of creatures living on the bottom of the deepest ocean and only ever seen by one person operating a ROV are often considered more notable than a living person that was seen by millions of people, but nobody took the effort to publish about.
