Help[edit]

((helpme)) I have this book:

It lists every romanian aircraft from 1905 to 1970, with dimensions, some characteristics and 3-view diagrams. Is it ok to scan those diagrams and upload them to wikimedia? The copyright issues are somewhat unclear to me in this case. - Alexandru.rosu (talk) 14:44, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Book came out in 1970, I doubt all the images are license free. Some of the earlier ones probably are, but the new ones are probably not. You should probably review WP:IUP as well as ask at .. well, there's a forum for asking but for the life of me, I can't find it right now :D
Good luck, JaakobouChalk Talk 16:22, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I suspect that Jaakobou was thinking of Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
You can certainly ask there, but I think it's unlikely that any of the images will be permitted.
For further help, you can also talk to us live.

Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  16:44, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put ((helpme)) and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Play in your user area. For example, create User:Alexandru.rosu/test.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Fair use rationale for File:Adobe Bridge CS5 Icon.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Adobe Bridge CS5 Icon.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:03, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks, I uploaded a whole bunch, but didn't have time to add Fair Use Rationale to them. Didn't know they were going to be deleted (it seems they are being replaced with svg versions anyway). Is there a template I must follow? Alexandru.rosu (talk) 06:06, 10 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Flash CS5 on commons.[edit]

I noticed that a duplicate of the Adobe Flash CS5 file you uploaded, Adobe Flash CS5 Icon.png, is apparently available on the Wikimedia Commons. For this reason, the duplicate will permanently stay and now you're safe. mechamind90 20:34, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
