Speedy deletion nomination of Robert Allen (philosopher)

[edit]

Hello Anthony.robert.allen,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Robert Allen (philosopher) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, TheGeneralUser (talk) 22:48, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Robert Allen (philosopher)

[edit]

The article Robert Allen (philosopher) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

adjunct professor, no books, not nearly enough to meet WP:PROF

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated)) notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated)) will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. P.S. I'm really sorry that nomination of deletion of your first article is the way you received your first welcome, but you cannot imagine to what degree Wikipedia is inundated with new articles now—strong control is necessary.
Also, I do suggest that you follow the links to article requirements provided above, as they may help you argue your case at Articles for deletion—for example, if you can prove that the subject's work is cited by many academics, it could suffice for keeping the article. Also, if, as your username suggests, you are closely connected to the subject of the article, I suggest that you be upfront about it at the discussion (a declaration to that effect would do nicely) as failing to do so could influence other editors negatively.
Good look, and please don't be scared off!

Thanks! Your last post to the AfD discussion was very helpful. I'm not into the subject; let's hope that someone who does will give some input. הסרפד (Hasirpad) [formerly Ratz...bo] 03:31, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removing AfD template

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Robert Allen (philosopher). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  08:46, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
