Sarnia, Ontario

Just for future reference, the -17 in "CBLFT-17" does not mean that the transmitter broadcasts on channel 17. Canadian television rebroadcast transmitters aren't necessarily numbered that way. What it means in this case is that the transmitter in Sarnia was the 17th one added chronologically. (There are some that are numbered with the actual channel number, but it's at the choice of the broadcaster — so you should always assume that the two aren't related unless proven otherwise.) So I'd ask you to please not change the channel number for CBLFT-17 again unless you can confirm that it's actually been moved to channel 17 even though all the media directories still list it on 68. Thanks. Bearcat 00:56, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Request for edit summary

Thank you for your contributions. And I have a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries more often when you contribute. An edit summary helps others understand what you changed when checking the watchlist or the recent changes, and often times complements studying the diff. Think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. I hope you don't mind. :) Cheers – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 04:05, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Sarnia

Could I please ask you again, what's your source for claiming that CBLFT's transmitter in Sarnia has moved to channel 17? The CRTC has no decision on file permitting a channel change. No media directory notes a change. SRC's own website still lists it on Channel 68. Would you please either show me a source or leave the channel as 68? Bearcat 06:26, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

It is only seen in BC and Watcom County in Washington. That doesn't make CHAN a superstation. If you can prove it that it is. Leave a comment in my talk page. Pikachu9000 19:49, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

==Please Use Edit Summaries==

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. AmiDaniel (talk) 05:22, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

WSPX-TV

I'm sorry to inform you that WSPX-TV does have the suffix for its main license on channel 56, as shown here. The record with no suffix is a petition for rulemaking, which has been known to include non-existent suffixes or exclude existing ones. Sorry I had to do this, most of your other edits to Pax/i affiliate articles seem to be fine. --WCQuidditch 22:26, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing my error. I forgot to change the callsign when I copied over from ((Fox Michigan)). Thanks again. CoolKatt number 99999 04:27, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

((CBC Ontario))

Could you please pay some attention to the way categories are structured? The Ontario TV stations are subcategorized by their region of the province (Toronto, Ottawa, Western Ontario, Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario), so we do not want the stations dually categorized in the parent Category:Television stations in Ontario in addition to their market category. If you create any further Network-in-Ontario templates, please ensure that the "Television stations in Ontario" category is listed within noinclude tags. Bearcat 00:16, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

WCTV

I have to question whether to include WCTV in the CBS Georgia template. Even though WCTV is licensed to Thomasville, for all intents and purposes it's a Tallahassee station. From what I remember in reading previous versions of their Web site, WCTV has NEVER had its main studio on the Georgia side of the market, so it has always considered itself a Tallahassee station.

In my book, WCTV is in the same category as a few other stations licensed in one state, but pretty much identify with another:

On that basis, I would argue that WCTV is a 100% Tallahassee station. Blueboy96 15:52, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

KJNP-TV

I was expecting some edits, but an advertisement tag? I thought someone might dispute the article's facutal accuracy, rather than its POV... the "Godless commies" comment should be a dead giveaway... AlexDW 15:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Your Editting of Crayon Shin-chan Article

In the article Crayon Shin-chan, you've changed a line that says "Starting April 2006, Crayon Shin-chan celebrates its 15th anniversary" to "Crayon Shin-chan celebrated its 15th anniversary in April 2006." That is not true, however. At the beginning of each current Crayon Shin-chan shows, Shin-chan says, translated literally, "Crayon Shin-chan, Television 15th Year!" As of June 2006, it says, "Even this summer, Crayon Shin-chan, Television 15th Year!" meaning it still has not finished celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Your Editing of KASY-TV

I see you update the information KASY-TV often. But all of your information is wrong. We have no association with KUPT or those others that are up there. We do not transmit a signal to Lubbock Texas. If there is a station in Lubbock that is taking our signal, it is not legally being done so, and they don't have the permission of our station or the company that owns us. We do help boost our signal to reach other parts of New Mexico, but it's all done under our KASY call letters. We were recently added on Comcast cable in smaller parts of New Mexico. But that's it. Where are you getting this information about the Texas station?

Now you are adding more incorrect information regarding some station called KTEL.

I'll have to start reporting you for posting wrong information.

KYUM-LP channel 2 in Yuma AZ

You changed the affiliation of KYUM-LP to 3ABN and from the Arizona Spanish Stations template to the Other Arizona Stations template. Has KYUM-LP changed affiliations since May 27?

KAET

I added the reference to UK's Channel 5 because of the way it is pronounced. At C5 (five), the continuity announcers always say "now on five, (program name here)". At KAET, they always say "(program name), tonight at 6, only on eight". That is why I added the reference to UK's Channel 5. Do not remove it again please. --Arbiteroftruth 05:29, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Kwyblp.jpg)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kwyblp.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 12:08, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

((context))

The context tag is to be placed on articles which don't even give a proper explanation of what the article subject is (for example, if WFPA-CA didn't even say that WFPA was a television station in Philadelphia.) It is not to be used as a substitute for a stub template on articles that are expandable but do provide a valid basic summary. Bearcat 22:11, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Protection

Please note that adding a ((sprotected)) or ((protected)) tag to an article (as you did to WHDH-TV) doesn't actually protect it - it just puts the box on top of the article. If you actually want to get an article protected, ask an admin at Wikipedia:Requests for protection. Zetawoof(ζ) 05:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

CBS Paramount Television

I think our friend 24.7.77.145 came back under the new IP 24.229.92.186 to continue his antics of saying the same logo was different in some way and posting one image again and again. I reverted him, but I don't know if his 3RR block and disruption blocks helped at all. Keep your eyes out for him, again. Nate 21:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Link to Kansas City

When you want to link to the article about Kansas City, please do not link to Kansas City, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). KTFL Flagstaff

You changed the article, stating that their license was canceled as of 9/7. Do you have a reference for that? I cannot find where their license was canceled. CDBS has "Permit Canceled" as the current status of their analog license, but AFAIK, they still have the digital construction permit active, meaning that the station is not defunct. I've been trying to get an answer on this for over 2 months now, but I have a feeling that they're going digital-only instead, as KWDK in Seattle did. --dhett 05:05, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm assuming that this unsigned note left on my talk page is yours. Here it is, with my response. --dhett 05:54, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Recently, you changed back the info for KTFL to prior the change, since it could not be verified.
If so, what's this?
http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/sta_det.pl?Facility_id=74149
It says, "License Cancelled"; if the FCC says so, then it must be true, unless there is evidence saying otherwise.
Know what? You're right. I misread the status date as 6/27/2006 instead of 6/27/2002. The FCC's publication of this list on 7/21/2006, effective 7/13/2006, led me to believe that the CP for KTFL-DT was still active, even though their latest STA expired on 7/1/2006. Apparently, it is not, as they have changed the station status from LICENSED to LICENSE CANCELLED. I have restored your edits, with a note explaining why.

K08MM

Why do you persist in putting useless information into articles? The fact that K08MM is Class A has been documented already in three places in the article. There is no rule stating that a Class A station must have all-alpha calls. There is no such thing as "translator-style calls" - X99XX are low-power calls. Period. Class A stations are low-power stations. I'm not concerned about your "consistency" - 1) I find no other articles with that line, and 2) if I did, I'd remove them, as it's a foolish consistency. Leave the articles alone - they're fine without your superfluous edits. --dhett 14:53, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

PSIPs

Regarding our minor conflict on several of the CW templates, I have thought that Wikipedia convention for digital subchannels was to use the PSIP number as opposed to the actual given that FCC regulations require stations to use the PSIP number. Yes, PSIP doesn't apply to early adoptors with older sets, but considering the fact that that percentage of those viewers are declining daily I'd consider it a moot point to list actual considering the FCC circumstances in place. To save an edit war, would it be possible to go to a third party for a definitive answer? Scrabbleship 10:28, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

RE: Singleton Applicant

The commonly accepted definition of the word "singleton" is "alone". In each article I used that term, in the sentence following the phrase "singleton applicant", I explained that as a singleton applicant, the station would likely be granted a construction permit, "as there are no nearby applicants competing for the same or adjacent channels". Moreover, the link cited clearly states, "The following stations have filed applications without competitors in the area (singleton applications)." Although I believe that these explain what a singleton applicant is, nevertheless, I have clarified the definition in each article, KVOA, KESE-LP and K28FM. --dhett 19:38, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

KPHE

Is your change to Multimedios based on my post in Radio-Info? I was about to make the change myself that night, then noticed that they still had a lot of TV Inspiracion material. Since then, I'd been looking for more Multimedios programming before changing the Wikipedia article, but so far, all I've seen has been TV Inspiracion, including right now. I'm kinda puzzled about the whole thing - have you seen any other Multimedios programming from them? dhett 04:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

The only Multimedios programming I've seen is on my local affiliate, WTAM-LP ch.30 in Tampa -- and that's only through fleeting glances at thriftshops (I'm a cable person). If they still are primarily a TV Inspiracion affil, maybe they have dual affiliations, or they got cold feet. -- azumanga 05:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
They're still running a lot of TV Inspiracion material, but I'm seeing more Multimedios material now, enough to where I'm now comfortable in calling them a Multimedios affiliate. However, I wouldn't assume that KPHE is running the same programming as KTAM-LP, even though they've been owned by the same companies for several years now. (Both stations, along with KHLM-LP in Houston, participated in the Digital Data Services Act pilot project in 2000-2002. Lotus bought all three stations in a package deal.) dhett 19:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Bohemia Visual Music

I wouldn't bother. The kid seems clueless. His (her?) first attempt at an article was to lift the opening page text from the BVM website verbatim to use as his opening, then lift a MySpace entry by one of the owners verbatim as the article. At first, I didn't realize it was COPYVIO, so when I tagged the article ((advert)) and confronted him about it, he changed the first person text to third person, removed the tag, and proclaimed that he had removed the advertising. Then I found out it was plagiarism and stubbed it down to its present opening paragraph. The ((inappropriate tone)) tag was a good idea, but I doubt he'll get it. For now, I'll just let him work his "magic", then when he's satisfied with his work and quits, I might just go in and do a massive cleanup. If someone doesn't nom it as CSD first... dhett 07:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello

I'm new at this...on leaving messages for users. The facts are clear for KORS channels 16.2 & 41.2 in Portland Oregon. KORS is on the air as of 1/12/07 we have our server there at KORS and currently test runs of programming now. We have major impact on Phoenix television market and many people want to "know" what happened. Jeff Crawford

TV3 Winchester, con't

This, while true, will change soon. WHSV requested that Winchester City and Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, and Page counties be made part of the Harrisonburg DMA. This was approved by the FCC, and since WHSV-DT3 will be seen in Harrisonburg, which has always been in the Harrisonburg DMA, WHSV-DT3 (the DT signal of TV3 Winchester) is technically a Harrisonburg station.

To settle this, I am going to make TV3 Winchester a Washington, DC and Harrisonburg station, since it serves in both DMAs. - SVRTVDude 04:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

What in the world did you do with the New Mexico templates!?

TV stations

The guy is really confussing me. Should i remove all the stub tags he adds or only the ABC, NBC, etc.? I never could imagine it would be so difficult to change the categories! -- Magioladitis 13:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

April 26 - Diego Verdager

Hello Azumanga1. I see that you deleted the April 26 birthday entry for Diego Verdager, the Argentine singer. Could you tell me why you deleted it? Earlier, I had planned to delete it, but then changed my mind when I read about him. I am interested in finding out your rationale for the deletion. Thanks, and best wishes, Que-Can 04:29, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

KAET again

Is there a reason why it is necessary to note that K19CX is owned by KAZT? Of the other 16 translators listed, only 6 are owned by KAET, and none of the other 10 list their owners. dhett (talk contribs) 23:16, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

A Quick Note

Please watch on some of your edits and reverts as you are deleting some accurate information. WGAL was on Channel 4 from '49 to '52. WHTM was on Channel 71 from '53 to '57 and is owned under the "Harrisburg Television, Inc." title which is owned by Allbritton Communications. WQMY, WOLF, and WSWB have individual websites on nepatoday.com. WETA's digital signals now broadcast 24 hours not just from 6a to 6p as they once did.

Please watch your edits and if you have questions about station in VA, WV, MD, PA, or DC, drop a message on my talk page and I can answer just about any question you have. Rock on....SVRTVDude (Yell - Toil) 04:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

No worries. I do try to keep an eye on several radio and TV pages for updates and edits to make sure the information is correct and there are a couple that I do revert, but most of the info is up-to-date. I do pay particular attention to changes made my IP addresses as there is an IP editor that caused many problems, but is out of the Boston area. If you have any questions on any pages (information you think may be false or whatnot) just let me know and I can give you a hand. Rock on...SVRTVDude (Yell - Toil) 07:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Possible community ban of BenH

Speaking as someone who's had to fix BenH's damage at least once (see WJZY--so far, the only station in my stomping grounds he's hit that I know of), it's obvious he's not interested in debating. That RfC's been up almost a year now. I think we ought to impose a community ban. What do you think? Blueboy96 14:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Just proposed a community ban on BenH at WP:CN ... would appreciate your support, this may be the only way to stop him.Blueboy96 02:00, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

The community ban on BenH has carried--whoopee! I take it this means there are no restrictions whatsoever on reverting his edits. Blueboy96 15:33, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Mmbabies

Un-bleepity-bleeping believable. One of his socks even revealed some personal info about a school bus driver. That alone should get him banned. You propose it, I'll endorse it, strongly.--Blueboy96 02:35, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

On second thought, after looking at the nature of some of those threats, can't wait another minute ... I'm proposing it myself. --Blueboy96 04:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

He's banned.Blueboy96 00:59, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
So when you emailed AT&T, did you tell them about the suspected socks? There's enough info there that they can at least tell what user was logged in at that time. I don't think Mmbabies realizes that he could get his parents' Internet access nuked. I was tempted to spell it out for him ... but that would be feeding a troll. A little troll, but a troll nonetheless.Blueboy96 04:49, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

KXGN-AM/KDZN-FM

The reason I made the wiki pages with the -AM and -FM on the end, was in case a KXGN-FM or KDZN-AM comes along, there isn't that much moving around and it looks better in appearence. I make many pages that way, regardless of the FCC calls, which I state in the article. I personally think it looks better, but to each is own. - SVRTVDude (Yell - Toil) 09:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

UCCorp template

I reverted your edit to Template:UCCorp because it makes more sense, for consistency's sake, to limit entries on newspaper templates to their "official" names -- the names of their articles, minus disambiguation words. Further, I don't think anyone would "expect" Watertown Public Opinion to necessarily be the New York one, any more than they would expect it to be Watertown, S.D., or Watertown, Mass., for that matter; the template doesn't mention that WWNY is based in Watertown at all, much less Watertown, N.Y. Point being, if folks want encyclopedic content, let 'em click on the link and read the article. The template is just a list of links.

WP:NLT

Hi Azumanga,

Please do not make legal threats, as you did here. I understand this IP and related ones are vandals and it is frustrating dealing with this user. However, legal threats are strictly against policy. If you're this exasperated, I recommend taking your concerns to WP:AN/I, if you haven't already. I've removed the part of your comment for now, as I do not want to see you blocked from editing; you're too good of a user to lose!

Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 05:15, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

WNYT

Azumanga,

What is the point in making a disambiguation page in order to accommodate an internet radio station which holds little importance outside of its own campus over a widely-viewed television station that has had some staffers make it big nationally? Wouldn't a note on the page of the NYIT WNYT have sufficed on the page of the "real" WNYT rather than mucking up the many links to the page of the "real" WNYT in order to accommodate something less relevant? University of Florida TV/Radio

Thanks for your work on the TV and radio station pages for WUFT and WRUF. I had originally created the new pages before I was aware of the proper naming conventions for shared call signs. It was something that I planned to work on eventually, but you took care of it . Horologium t-c 20:22, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Xhrio-my2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Xhrio-my2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. KOTA-TV

Hi - you recently reverted a change to KOTA-TV ([3]). It seemed to me that the previous edit was constructive, but I know nothing of the television station sub-community on Wikipedia (I happened to see this edit on the list of Wyoming related pages). For my own personal curiosity (and also so I can speedily revert next time if the offending text comes back), why did you revert the edit? Thanks. - CosmicPenguin (Talk) 02:54, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

A ((prod)) template has been added to the article Sony Entertainment Television (Spain), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). p.s. While I'm here, I also tagged a whole bunch more Northland's NewsCenter related imagery, you should fix that up too while you're at it, it's not like adding citations for more than what you were reminded about is end of the world! Don't forget, due to the usage of these images in multiple articles, multiple citations are needed for each page it's used on! ViperSnake151 22:17, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay32183 00:18, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Question

I noticed you had changed the FUR on Image:03-kyus.JPG, so I gotta ask...are the way my fair-use rationales written out correct? Examples of the FURs I used would be the "former TV logo" for the KYUS image, the "current TV logo" which is used on the current logo of WPCW-TV, and the "current radio logo" which I used ALOT and is used on the current logo for WAXM-FM.

If my FURs need to be corrected or have parts added to them, please let me know as they are on MANY different images (mostly radio and TV logos) around Wikipedia. Thanks...NeutralHomer T:C 04:48, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kfsm5.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kfsm5.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 18:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

BYU Television International

Is there a reason you deleted the majority of the page I created for BYU Television International? Our original intent was that it be identical to its Spanish language version. Content and text, as well as layout and appearance were all approved by the owners, operators and management of BYU TV-I, and we are not happy that you changed everything.

Please let me know why. Give me reasons. We want it how it used to be. Please don't mess with it. If we are violating copyrights, that's one thing, but messing with it for any reason other than that constitutes vandalism in our opinion. Thank you. Mhamilton624 16:37, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Stop your changes to article names for Australian stations

Please stop moving articles without gaining concensus at WP:AUTV. Your moves are incorrect. The articles are for the stations in general, not for the specific analogue transmitter. For example TCN-9 is Nine's Sydney analogue transmitter, and TCN-8 is Nine's Sydney digital transmitter. Also, relay stations are for example TCN-41. When referring to the analogue transmitter, you should say TCN-9, and when referring to the digital transmitter you should say TCN-8, however the official call-sign is TCN. Stickeylabel 02:42, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Revert your changes to GTS-4/BKN-7, NWS-9, ABS-2 and ABQ-2, and GAIN concensus. Stickeylabel 02:44, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Please, in future, do not embark on mass page moves without first gaining consensus to do so. That is not a responsible use of the move tool. Regards, --cj | talk 04:24, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

WFTV TV Tower Christmas

I noticed that you undid my redirect to WFTV with the comment: Reverted to previous, as the use of WP:BOLD does not correlate with the change to redirect. However, there has been ample discussion on the subject in AfDs (summarised here) in which the vast majority have been deleted and a small proportion redirected, thus a redirect per WP:BOLD would be entirely appropriate IMHO, unless it can be demonstrated how the mast is notable per WP:N. As this is not the case, I have reinstated the redirect. Ohconfucius 09:14, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
