ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add ((NoACEMM)) to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Margles I would recommend not saying personal information anywhere on Wikipedia. Anyone can find it if they know where to look. I will request oversight to remove the information permanently from the page history, but please do not do this in the future. It is a direct personal risk. Reversal of FNF development information[edit]

Hi, I saw your reversal of my contributions to the development section of the Friday Night Funkin' page. I noticed your concern over twitter being used as a source. Although twitter is typically an unacceptable source, these tweets come from the creator of the game and therefore count as acceptable (see Template:Cite Tweet page). As for other concerns, I was in the middle of citing all revisions before my contributions were undone. As someone with personal connection to the director of the game, I've been editing to the page to his liking, asking him to provide sources. The information about the Nintendo port was not reliable despite its sourcing, and the facts around the port are being kept under wraps from the public currently. Carolineovo (talk) 03:18, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Carolineovo In some cases Twitter can be a reliable source, but in what world does the fact that PhantomArcade's girlfriend's parents called his music taste gay belong in a Wikipedia article? That's such a trivial piece of information and definitely counts as fancruft. Blubewwy (talk) 03:36, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I changed the exact wording to match the tweet, which is considered an integral part of the development of the game theme. Carolineovo (talk) 03:52, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Carolineovo Oh and also, I believe editing a page about someone you are close to (and especially adding/removing details they have asked you to do so) counts as a conflict of interest. Not to mention the fact that you can't really prove that you're close to PhantomArcade. Blubewwy (talk) 03:38, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The conflict of interest page says one is discouraged from editing, but not barred from doing so. I understand if you should remove the unsourced edits before I can source them, but do not remove the sourced edits. PhantomArcade is a large part of this project. Carolineovo (talk) 03:47, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
He wrote the music, sure, but you also don't need to make the entire development section be about him. Blubewwy (talk) 03:49, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
he did not write the music, but the story of the game and much else, as noted in my contributions. Carolineovo (talk) 03:54, 28 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

"Previous wording flowed better"?[edit]

I'm referring to this edit on the Hazbin Hotel page. Since I want to avoid an edit war, I want to know your reasoning before changing anything back, because I believe your edit actually makes the flow of the sentence worse in every way.

@Unnamed anon The fact that Adam doesn't mention the dead exterminator ever again is a good point, so upon reflection, you can remove that if you want. If I removed the mention of the ad being interrupted, that was genuinely an accident on my part, and I apologize for that. That can be readded as well. However, I do feel that the phrase "who is revealed to be a former angel" is important, because this was specifically the episode where this information was revealed. Without it, the phrase "Vaggie, a former angel" almost feels like this was information that had been previously known in the show. Blubewwy (talk) 12:48, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
