Hi. @HistoryofIran considers that article as its own and has taken it hostage. It does not allow anyone to edit! See the history of the article; Anyone who has edited (even correct edits) he has undone.
He is not willing to discuss on the talk page of that article. Even I brought a source, but the source rejects a historian (Basil Nikitin)!! Sardarmukri (talk) 08:52, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
I am acting as an admin, to end the edit-war and force discussion. I am not taking a position on the content itself. But I do see that the other editor did in good faith start a talk-page discusion, in which you post multiple unsupported or weakly-supported claims of fact and unsupported opinions about sources, whereas they cite several sources and a Wikipedia guideline about sources. I recommend you seek dispute resolution from other experienced editors. DMacks (talk) 13:32, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
Mass energy equivalence
I changed the word "equivalent" in the text to "equal", because mass and energy are not equivalent.
m^2 is the invariant (squared) length of the 4-vector (E,p). Energy is the 0 component of the 4-vector.
To say they are equivalent is like saying that r and z of a 3-vector are equivalent if x and y happen to be zero.
Of course, even though 100 cm equals 1 meter, the numbers have to be multiplied by a constant factor if they are in different units.
I could change the next sentence to "If energy and mass are expressed in different units, then a constant conversion factor would have have to be introduced."
I have been working so long in units where energy and mass are in the same unit, that I didn't think such an explanation was necessary, but I left what was there so it wouldn't make too much of a change. In any event, it was what I considered the misuse of the world "equivalent" that motivated me.
What do you think should be done? Alfa137 (talk) 17:05, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Problems
The URLs in "prev" links on page history now contain diff=prev&oldid=[revision ID] in place of diff=[revision ID]&oldid=[revision ID]. This is to fix a problem with links pointing to incorrect diffs when history was filtered by a tag. Some user scripts may break as a result of this change. [1]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 17 January. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 18 January. It will be on all wikis from 19 January (calendar).
Some changes to the appearance of talk pages have only been available on Talk: and User talk: namespaces. These will be extended to other talk namespaces, such as Wikipedia talk:. They will continue to be unavailable in non-talk namespaces, including Wikipedia: pages (e.g., at the Village Pump). You can change your preferences (beta feature). [2]
On Wikisources, when an image is zoomed or panned in the Page: namespace, the same zoom and pan settings will be remembered for all Page: namespace pages that are linked to a particular Index: namespace page. [3]

Wikis that use localized numbering schemes for references need to add new CSS. This will help to show citation numbers the same way in all reading and editing modes. If your wiki would prefer to do it yourselves, please see the details and example CSS to copy from, and also add your wiki to the list. Otherwise, the developers will directly help out starting the week of February 5.
I'm pretty confused... I don't know what to change ^^
Sciencationelle (talk) 16:52, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
@Sciencationelle The article is correct but could do with expansion. If you click on its reference doi:10.1002/anie.201301164, you'll see a diagram that shows how 3-methyl ornithine first forms a dipeptide with lysine and then an enzyme cyclises the ornithine portion to form the ring. Mike Turnbull (talk) 11:39, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Take a look at File:Pyrrolysine Synthesis (corrected).png. In your first step, you take lysine and label the reaction "methylation". If a new carbon becomes attached as you say, it would give methyllysine not methylornithine. Compare your second structure with File:3-methylornithine.svg. The reaction instead is an isomerization: instead of a new carbon added, the chain gets shortened by one to supply the methyl group. Then notice in your last step (the multiple-arrows) how to have to lose one of the black carbons in the chain. If your black-and-red structure were to be correct, wouldn't the final product have a six-membered ring rather than five? Look at how many carbons there are between the methyl group and the nitrogen. Mike Turnbull's DOI link is a good one. DMacks (talk) 03:18, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Voting in the 2023 Community Wishlist Survey will begin on 10 February 2023 and end on 24 February 2023. You can submit, discuss and revise proposals until 6 February 2023.

pubchem CID: 40579125 is reffer to C13H22N2O -- Htmlzycq (talk) 07:34, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
@Htmlzycq Thanks for pointing this out. I've corrected the article IDs. The easiest way to know which is correct is via the InChI key, which has to reflect the stereochemistry (and obviously there is only one nitrogen!). Wikidata is still wrong. I'm not sure if a bot updates that automatically now I've changed the Chembox but, if not, perhaps you would like to do that? Mike Turnbull (talk) 11:46, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
OK, I've remove all ITEM in wikidada Q1030730 reffer to SS220, except Freebase ID and Microsoft Academic ID which I can't open because of GWF.--Htmlzycq (talk) 12:04, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
I've rebuild the wikidada entry Q116678739 about SS220.--Htmlzycq (talk) 12:16, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
@Htmlzycq I suspect that Q1030730 = chemspider = pubchem is entirely the result of an earlier mistake when someone was trying to enter SS220. There are no actual references to "real" literature on that compound and Chemspider claims it has Cas RN = 298207-27-9, which is actually SS220. I'm not sure how one goes about removing this fictitious compound! Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:44, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
Wow, I go to sleep for one night, and all sorts of excitement happens here! There's often an echo-chamber among some or all of wikidata/pubchem/chemspider, whereas CAS and actual literature are more authoritative. What if anything is left to do? Is the article correct, pointing to a correct wikidata item? Is there a different wikidata item that is purely ficticious (as opposed to simply talking about some other known chemical)? Are there incorrect diagrams on commons? DMacks (talk) 17:56, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
After my edits yesterday the article is entirely correct and its citations back up the structure, which has been correctly drawn since its creation. The first mistakes in our article were added in this edit by Graeme_Bartlett when he linked to pubchem=53420601 (presumably searching via the CAS RN) and that edit added the wrong InChI and key: the mol form is the giveaway. I'm not sure how chemspider ID=26514450 was created: it has never been in our article. I don't know how to fix the database side, although I have in the past emailed RSC people to correct Chemspider entries. Arguably Q1030730 should be SS220 and not as it stands today a mixture of isomers that has, as far as I know, never existed. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:17, 5 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing that. My bad edit happened too long ago to figure out how I got a wrong pubchem cid. Usually I would go by SMILES, but using the CASRN to search pubchem is likely too. But I failed to add SMILES back then. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:47, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

In the Vector 2022 skin, logged-out users using the full-width toggle will be able to see the setting of their choice even after refreshing pages or opening new ones. This only applies to wikis where Vector 2022 is the default. [8]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 February. It will be on all wikis from 9 February (calendar).
Previously, we announced when some wikis would be in read-only for a few minutes because of a switch of their main database. These switches will not be announced any more, as the read-only time has become non-significant. Switches will continue to happen at 7AM UTC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. [9]
Across all the wikis, in the Vector 2022 skin, logged-in users will see the page-related links such as "What links here" in a new side menu. It will be displayed on the other side of the screen. This change had previously been made on Czech, English, and Vietnamese Wikipedias. [10]
Gadgets and user scripts will be changing to load on desktop and mobile sites. Previously they would only load on the desktop site. It is recommended that wiki administrators audit the gadget definitions prior to this change, and add skins=… for any gadgets which should not load on mobile. More details are available.
Maybe it is another echo-chamber among some or all of wikipedia/pubchem/chemspider database.--Htmlzycq (talk) 10:03, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
@Htmlzycq This is just a case of two independent research teams assigning trivial names that happen to be duplicates. The CAS entries call one "Retusin (Ariocarpus)" and the other "Retusin (Dalbergia)". I think that these would be better titles for our two articles than the current ones, since that is what the references use. Would you like to move them? Mike Turnbull (talk) 11:16, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
I personally tend to use a chemical name similar to "4',7-Dihydroxy-6-methoxyflavone", but it is not very friendly to people unfamiliar with chemistry--Htmlzycq (talk) 11:53, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
@Htmlzycq Yes, and those sorts of names are harder to search, so per WP:COMMONNAME the "Retusin" should be in both titles. We have a DAB page that might not be needed since there are only 2 retusins. Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:17, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
Regarding Mary in Islam
Hi There,
So I wanted to ask:
what's your problem exactly? The author you quoted is in fact only the translator of the Quran and the misunderstanding you created between Amram and Imran is your own interpretation of Islamic theology and irrelevant to Islam.
I have refuted the argument you brought up from Islamophobic websites where Mary mother of Jesus is confused with Mary sister of Moses and I can do the same with Imran and Amram if need be.
If you insist on pushing forward propaganda like before, it would make you a liar and a hypocrite.
In my personal opinion, I don't really care about the article that much, its not even my job to maintain it or anything, but when a Christian who isn't Muslim comes and tries to interpret Islamic theology and says its missing pieces of Christianity in there, then that person needs to be shown they're clearly in a huge error.
I'm reverting the article back to what Islam teaches and not what Christianity teaches, since its only relevant cause the article is called 'Mary in Islam', not Christianity.

I find it absolutely disgusting that there’s a policy on “deadnames” in Wikipedia that actively tries to hide relevant information. I’m here ONLY to find out what their birth name was, but somehow that isn’t considered “relevant information”. If it’s something people are coming here to find out the answer to, how is it not relevant information?! It’s sad and pathetic that Wikipedia and the people “moderating” it obviously have a political agenda that they want to push, and actively try to hide other relevant information under the guise of “dead naming”. Disgusting and will never donate to this site again. Seedub420 (talk) 06:16, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

There have been fairly consistent disputes for many years. They have at least recently involved autoconfirmed editors. Therefore long-term protection, and full-prot. I could envision "short-term full, indef-semi", but wikimedia software doesn't support that sort of layering or setting an alarm for expiring protection. The disruption often involves BLP details, so I thought it was better to avoid a lapse in protection, even at the risk of losing an occasional direct good edit that could be handled via edit-request. There should be no more moles to whack now since the socks and sleeper accounts owned by Christmas tearjerker were dealt with before they could come out so we don't need to worry, their interesting behaviour was that they were acting like Cluebot NG or us vandal fighters.
