Response[edit]

This is in no way a vanity page or a conflict of interest. These aren't my pages [about me] and I certainly have nothing to gain. I'm simply a resident of Mr. Carvell's hometown and a freelance writer. I've been following his career for over a decade now. I ran into him at a Transformers 2 benefit film screening he threw back in June and I asked him if he'd allow me to be the official biographer (merely as a courtesey) for him and his company as a hobby. So, I'm doing just that... wherever it needs to be done. I receive NO money for this. My sources include he, the company, television, newspaper, and the internet. And although I've already spent a great deal of time the last few weeks working on a couple of these pages while trying to quickly learn all the ins and outs of everything Wikipedia, I still have more to add to these entries... and more to learn, no doubt. All I ask is that you please be patient with me and cut me some slack. You were new at this once, too. And it's more than clear by looking at the references, external links, or by doing a Google search that this guy, his company, and charity have made a notable impact. He and his company are on TV, in the papers, and press releases a few times a year. Both are certainly as notable if not more than some of the article subjects that I used for reference when trying to code these pages. Don-flashpoint (talk) 23:12, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Please stop editing articles that present a conflict of interest for you. This includes the company for which you work and people associated with your paid role. 98.248.33.198 (talk) 01:09, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Signature Change[edit]

Changed my signature from "Don-flashpoint" to the more specific "thedonkauffman", as there seemed to be some confusion. thedonkauffman 01:22, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
