The bot deleted my work within minutes while I was still doing template transclusion experiments that take an hour and involve three templates, one transcluding one transcluding the other. I made an effort to find template sandboxes X3, X4, and X5, that were little used, for days on end, but as soon as I start using them, here comes the bot.
What can be done? I've looked around a bit, but found nothing I can do about the brush off. — CpiralCpiral 01:31, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Is Hazard Bot affected by the tool server outage? It did not create Category:Wikipedia_files_missing_permission_as_of_19_June_2015. Thanks. --B (talk) 15:43, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Hazard-SJ. There's a discussion about Hazard-Bot cleaning the sandbox on the bot owner's noticeboard. Thanks! — Earwig talk 00:08, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello Hazzard-SJ, Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Hazard-Bot 34 has been speedily moved to trial. Please see the page. — xaosflux Talk 04:15, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
I didn't get notified about this ping and only noticed it now. Apparently this is because "[t]he diff chunk must be recognised as an addition of new lines of text, not a change to existing lines"
, per mw:Manual:Echo#Technical details. – nyuszika7h (talk) 15:31, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
I'm a little confused about Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Hazard-Bot 29. Has it run on the entire Category:Relisted AfD debates? There's a lot of old logs from 2015 in there and it seems like pages as well. Thanks! -- Ricky81682 (talk) 09:26, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
<noinclude>...</noinclude>
). Hopefully the cases I locate are the only ones, and that no future cases develop (they would be undetectable). Thanks for pointing this out, though! Hazard SJ 00:38, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
Hey Hazard-Sj! Thanks for the patience on Wikipedia:Bots/Requests_for_approval/Hazard-Bot_33. Looks like we are a go! Remember, the staging for the articles: Wikipedia:Research_help/Proposal#Project_steps. I updated it to reflect the 10,000 article cap.
Since we are only doing 5,000 for each WikiProject, can you start at the A's so that we skip over the numbered pages? The numbered pages tend to be either current events (starting with the year of the article) or one of a similar type (for example, in military history there are a lot of numbered military units or medicine I imagine a lot of chemicals). Skipping to A's allows us to get a broader swath of the types of articles.
Also, if you could add one more element to the edit summary: a hashtag, so we can track the edits adding the template using http://tools.wmflabs.org/hashtags/. This should help with transparency of the number of edits for the bot action. I would suggest: #ResHelp.Astinson (WMF) (talk) 16:55, 1 February 2016 (UTC)
Hey Hazard-Sj. The conversation following the initial deployment were resistant, but not overwhelmingly negative. I think we are good to do the round 2, pilot at the project steps. The initial metrics and survey results are very promising. Astinson (WMF) (talk) 17:43, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi Hazard-SJ. We're looking for a sandbox cleaner at Draft:Sandbox. Are you interested in the job? -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:56, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi! Sorry to bother you but I would like to ask you to help us in the Jamaican Wikipedia, which still at the incubator. We have been told that "the requirements for approval are complete translation of the most-used messages and continuous activity of 3+ users for at least several (3+) months. We are two users (Yocahuna and I) so would like to ask for your help. Could you please answer here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katxis (talk • contribs) 17:32, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
What does adding to a page mean? "Adding ((Research help)); please leave feedback/comments..." K.e.coffman (talk) 04:24, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
Greetings! Would I contact you or Bgwhite for a new database dump on WP:FIX? I know the last one was done in January. Now that a majority of them have been completed, I think maybe it's time for another run? Sct72 (talk) 01:30, 13 March 2016 (UTC)
Well it turns out that this is known behavior; these dumps are listed as having failed items, so we don't copy from those. While it's possible that we could copy the files from steps of a 'bad' dump that are believed to have completed without issues, the risk is that those good steps may have problems as well so we don't do this. The failed steps will be rerun at the next pass and then those files will show up in labs.Bgwhite (talk) 20:26, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
Why did Hazard bot create Category:Possibly unfree files from 2016 April 20 and Category:Possibly unfree files from 2016 April 21? One bot operator letting their bot do it is bad enough. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 20:07, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you @Hazard-SJ and @Bgwhite for all the help and info on this! (sorry I didn't get on here sooner, it's been a weird month apparently!!) Sct72 (talk) 20:39, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Hey, could you run the dumps again for WP:FIX? And if you don't handle this anymore, direct me to the appropriate person? Thank you! Sct72 (talk) 20:08, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for the new dumps on WP:FIX! Sct72 (talk) 20:01, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:35, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi Hazard-SJ,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Hey, how about another run of dumps for WP:FIX? Thank you! Sct72 (talk) 02:01, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
I know Hazard bot does this, but some afds have been closed for 3 days and the category was getting a bit cluttered for my lurking brain. Does HazardBot go into action after a specific lag? and should I not hand remove debates? Thanks. L3X1 (distant write) 02:50, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi, please switch off the creation of daily categories in Category:Wikipedia files needing editor assistance at upload. These are no longer required, per unopposed proposal at CFD April 17. It appears that DumbBOT has stopped creating the categories, but Hazard-Bot is now doing so. – Fayenatic London 16:49, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
