Notability of Mike Adams (Scottish Comedian)

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mike Adams (Scottish Comedian), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mike Adams (Scottish Comedian) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mike Adams (Scottish Comedian), please affix the template ((hangon)) to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The main wall2.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:The Main Wall.jpg. The copy called Image:The Main Wall.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. [edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Michael Adams (Scottish Comedian). This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. faithless (speak) 06:48, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, such as Michael Adams (Scottish Comedian), you will be blocked from editing. faithless (speak) 07:09, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Adams

[edit]

Hi Mikey4021,

As I said above, your username suggests that you have a conflict of interest with the pages you are created. Creating pages about yourself is highly discouraged. If an article ought to be written about you, elieve me, someone will get around to doing it. But we have notability guidelines that subjects must meet if an article is to be written about them, and it doesn't appear that Michael Adams meets these criteria. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Cheers, faithless (speak) 07:16, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for persistent recreation of inappropriate pages. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text ((unblock|your reason here)) below. faithless (speak) 06:41, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:InterviewWithJesus-1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as ((non-free fair use in|article name)) or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 01:13, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
