Wrt this, I left a comment there. —AldeBaer 17:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
No matter how crazy the RFA was, shouldn't we include it? I understand your point, when I first saw it I thought it was a joke i was like "are you serious?" But he was. Shouldn't we put it back? Cheers, JetLover (talk) 00:40, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Self-deprecating humour is very popular up here eh? It's used in various cases to imply Canada is very authoritarian or socialist by critics, and somewhat more ironicly by fans. I think my usual implication on Wikipedia is that I live in a small, socialist country most editors have probably never heard of ... uh - it's a bit of a joke.
On the mailing list issue, I actually only signed up a bit back, and it irks me that my posts are moderated. You'd think someone with the trust of the en.wiki community could get the trust of its mailing list, eh? Cheers, WilyD 01:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I just joined the red sox project. one thing I noticed is that the short cut for the project is WP:Boston Red Sox. I also think we should use WP:BOSOX and maybe WP:MLB/BOS. New England Review Me! 18:28, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi New England, I've discussed with Oldwindybear the prospect of his returning to the project as an editor. He's expressed concern that recent incidents will dog him forever, or that his apology won't be truly accepted, allowing everyone to move on. so I am running this by you. No pressure one way or another - after all, he didn't block me etc. - just let me know what you think.Proabivouac 01:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I just erased my previous proposal and pointed out that it could be worded differently under proposal #4. Thanks. Okiefromokla•talk 03:13, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
If you wouldn't mind, that would be great. I was going to go about that just now after I had added a few more lines, but it would save me some difficulties. Thanks a lot. Gagueci 22:26, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

New England, I just wanted to say thank you for my successful RfA, which passed 89/2/5. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of support that I received and I am more than a little bit humbled at the kind words yourself and many others had to say about me. I wanted to personally say how much it is appreciated. Trusilver 02:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Please revert your edit that you just did on the vick article. I will gladly explain to you the situation but i do not want an edit war. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat 22:41, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Because you are new to the discussion I would like to bring you up to speed here rather than repeat myself on the article's talk page. Basically, my opponents cite exactly one example of the expression "Commonwealth Realm" (with the "r" capitalized) to justify capitalizing it everywhere on Wikipedia.
I can cite you at least twenty examples on the Queen's own Website or in academic articles to show that virtually nobody in the real world capitalizes it. I lay out the evidence here and here.
(Virtually all of the examples of it capitalized on the Web are copied from Wikipedia.)
It may seem trivial to you, but students who use Wikipedia could lose marks on their papers for using the wrong form. I've studied in Britain, Canada and the U.S., and I know my political science professors would have marked my papers off if I had capitalized Commonwealth realm.
BTW, I'm doing some genealogical work in Massachusetts right now, trying to track down the marriage record of Irish ancestors who married near Concord in 1848. The Commonwealth (of Massachusetts) archives are amazing. I've never before encountered such helpful people in all of my genealogical work.
Best wishes,

Because of the evidence you presented, I closed the AFD as keep. I would recommend that you incorporate some of those articles you presented me with into the pages. New England Review Me!/Go Red Sox! 15:41, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Is there any possibility you could have a less ostentatious sig? You may enjoy seeing it plastered all over a talk page such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chris Carter (baseball) but for the rest of us, its just a very unwelcome visual distraction. --Tagishsimon (talk) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tagishsimon (talk • contribs) 01:09, August 30, 2007 (UTC)
Hi New England. In the future, please remember that according to WP:ORG, the scope of an organization is not the sole criteria to be measured when determining whether or not an organization is notable. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 02:00, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
