Thank you for your input for the malagan culture, it helped clarify some things for me while studying for a school project. :) 68.105.69.226 23:04, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello! I happened to come across your page and saw that you speak a little Nalik. Can you perhaps tell me how one would say "forty-seven" (47) in this language? I'm collecting that number in all languages, Nalik would be #585 in my list. I hope they actually have numbers going that high... tenkyu tru! — N-true 03:17, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Could you please write a stub http://tpi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w - just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please.
PS. Article about Kurów is already on 175 languages. If you do that, please put interwiki link into English version. If your village/town/city isn't yet on PL wiki, I can do article about it. (I'm first author of requests) Pietras1988 TALK 17:44, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Just so you know, Portal:Papua New Guinea has a maintainer now. Aliasd 11:05, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Could I get some feedback from you on Template talk:Infobox_PNG_Place#New_Map? I think I have a good new map this time for the Infobox, and I want all the other kids to think its cool before I go ahead and put it out there. Aliasd 12:54, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
With your blessing, I would like to nominate you for sysop privileges on English Wikipedia. I believe you are a well experienced editor, and even though your edit count is a bit low, your edits have always been well thought out, well commented, and strictly adhere to Wikipedia policy. Furthermore, your account dates back 4 years, you are an active and important contributor to multiple Wikiprojects, and, importantly, you are constantly detecting and reverting bad edits and vandalism with dead accuracy in many articles that relate strictly to your personal experience. Being a person who has come head to head with you in disputes before, I can vouch for the fact that your treatment towards other Wikipedia users is courteous, adheres to policy, and is incredibly diplomatic and thoughtful. I think you would be a great admin, and I would be delighted if you would allow me to nominate you. Aliasd 05:52, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey. There is a question on your RFA page that has not been answered. It was proposed under optional. The person who submitted it is netural to you submit your response. Just thought you like to know!

I am looking at compiling a bunch of svgs of PNG political flags, do you know if images of these flags existing in the public domain at all already? I have found good graphics of PNG flags [1] and hope to use these as a reference, but I don't want to repeat work that has already been done. Also, I want to work some more on refining my cartography. I have some new maps on my images page which I have used to illustrate some aussie articles. They arent amazing, but I know I can do much better. Can you think of some PNG or MEL related maps that I should apply myself to? I want to draw some without a sat overlay. Aliasd
Hi Wantok, I'm sorry to let you know that your RfA did not pass this time. Remain active at Wikipedia, do your best work, read the reasons given by those who opposed you this time out, and you may very well succeed in the future, as many other current admins have. -- Cecropia 14:03, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
I created Template:Infobox Papua New Guinea Province, and cant get it to size right (see Western Province (Papua New Guinea) you any good with infoboxes? Could you please write a stub http://tpi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Grammar_School - just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Grammar_School? Good morning.
First off, I'm proceeding under the assumption that you are the same person as TPI User:"Mattandrews", since the profiles are quite similar. If not, then my apoligies for calling you "Matt" in my 'vote' for your being granted Administrator permissions.
Because of my recent work to revitalize and reorganize the TOK Pisin (TPI) Wikipedia and Wiktionary, I was truly disappointed that your request to be granted Administrator permissions was turned down. You, Aliasd, Tim mcready, Caffelice (if still around) and others who are participants in the WikiProject Melanesia can be a great help in getting those two moribund Wikis up and running again, especially if you had been granted Administrator privileges.
The two TPI Wikis have been virtually abandoned since they were originally set up by a Foundation developer, and user Caffelice. Nothing of any significance has been done to the Wikis for over a year and a half now. By analogy, the two Wikis are like untended, overgrown ailan garden plots whose boundaries were laid out with a stick, a few yams planted to get the garden started. But after those initial efforts the gardens have been forgotten. Untended, with no new yams planted, weeds (spam, vandalism, bots and unrelated articles) have sprung up. To make the garden viable now, it has to be laid out anew, and with much greater thought and precision. The 'weeds' have to be dug up and removed, the old 'yams' trimmed or moved, and new 'yams' have to be planted. And before all that occurs, a great deal of thought has to be given to who the beneficiaries of the revitalized gardens are going to be, and what types of 'yams' and other garden products would they prefer to have grown in their garden.
I've outlined the major part of my objectives for the TPI Wikipedia and Wiktionary in User:Mattandrews' talk page in the TPI Wikipedia. If you haven't already looked at it, I'd really appreciate your doing so and giving me your ideas and comments, either here, on my talk page, or my user talk page in the TPI Wikipedia.
And then as a final thought, how do you feel about me creating a "Tok Pisin" sub-page on the WikiProject Melanesia page to discuss ideas and concepts about revitalizing the two Wikis, and for discussion about Tok Pisin-related matters in general? Do you think there's enough interest now (or to be generated) by so doing?
Thanks/very best regards. K. Kellogg-Smith 11:25, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank-you for yet again fixing another one of my templates. I always stuff up somewhere, and its reassuring to see you get in there within hours to submit the little buggers to your great QA process. As they say, possibly a little much, keep up the good work! aliasd·U·T 03:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Greetings. Re: The material you deleted on, I assume, the grounds that it might be libellous. Defamation is by definition untrue and truth is an absolute defence in an action in libel or slander. The reporting of the episode regarding Somare and Gabriel Dusava selling PNG passports in Hong Kong and mining licences in both Hong Kong and Singapore, representing Somare as the King of Papua New Guinea and proferring the K50 note with his picture on it as evidence, was reported on the front pages of both The National and the Post-Courier, as footnoted in the material you deleted. There was never any retraction of the stories or apology by either paper, nor did the Somares formally protest. The fact that the stories were never followed up and that there was no editorial commentary and no letters to the editor published had to do with private overtures by the Somares as to the practical consequences for both papers if the stores were proceeded with. However, this need not concern Wikipedia or its editors, who are obviously beyond the reach of such threats. The issue is whether there is any actionable defamation and there is not. The material should be restored, and subject to any further matters which you may know of which bear on the subject, I shall do so once you have responded to these comments. I was wondering if you would translate this song that a native PNG wrote for some volunteers that were there with him. I have tried using a Tok Pisin to English dictionary, but some of it isn't making sense. It comes from the the clip at this web address:
Here are the words in Tok Pisin:
mi wanpela wok man long Japan
na mi wok insai long kantri PNG
mi wanpela wok man long Japan
na mi wok insai long kantri PNG
mi stap na mi lukim Papua Niugini
em i gutpela kantri
kantri bilong mi Japan
laik Japan na mipela l latu bilong Papua Niugini na olgeta kantri
Olsem na mi hamamas na mi singim song olsem
Also, there is a website with this comic regarding Malaria. I was wondering what it means as well. It's a bit hard to see, but if you can zoom in you can see the words. The website is:
[3]
Here are the words in Tok Pisin:
AIYEE! HET BILDNG ALEX I TUHAT OLSEM PAIA. WANEM SAMTING KAMAPIM DISPELA SIK SISTA?
TAIM NATNAT I KAIKAIM YU, WANPELA BINATANG I SAVE GO INSAIT LONG BLUT BILONG YU. MI KAMAP LONGNUPELA PLES NAU
EM I SAVE KARIM OL PIKININI NA PLANTI MOA I KAMAP... BLUT BILONG DISPELA MAN I SWIT MOA OLSEM TINPIS FAMILI BILONG MI I KAMAP PLANTI MOA.
OL DISPELA BINATANG I KAIKAIM BLUT NA MEKIM PIKININI I SIK...
SAPOS BINATANG I STAP, PIKININI BAI INDA!...
LAKI TRU MIPELA I GAT WANPELA MARASIN I SAVE KIUM DISPELA BINATANG
TASO-SAPOS YU DRINGIM MARASIM WANPELA TAIN TASOL, EM BA(??) NO NAD KILIM OLGETA O, BINATANG NA BAI SIK I STAP YET.. HE HE, EN MI DARIM OL PIKININI NA KAHAPIM PLANTI MOA WOK I PINIS NAU...
MARASIN I NO SWIT OIYO, SKIN I STAT LONG KAMAP KOL GEN NAU OLSEM NA ALEX MAS DRINGIM MARASIN TRIPELA TAIM. NAU, TUMORA NA HAP TOMORA
I'm not sure if all of that makes sense to you, because some of the words were difficult to read and were blurry. Hopefully I came up with the right thing. The (??) is where I had no clue what letters were there, because it looks as if some have disappeared. Anyway, if you can help me with the translation of all of these things, I will really appreciate it. I don't have enough skill to figure out the phrases, which really aren't found in the dictionaries, only works. When piecing the words together it doesn't come out quite right.
Thanks so much,
Orgilltm
(one line of the Tok Pisin above was wrong - the words in the video were na Japan emi brata tu bilong Papua Niugini na olgeta kantri rather than laik Japan na mipela l latu bilong Papua Niugini na olgeta kantri).
The malaria awareness comic goes like this:

==Thanks. Well, I am just slowly working my way through geography/landform articles, by country. I did a bit more today also on Papua New Guinea. Hmains 19:28, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
The content was a verbatim copy of the Ethnologue article, as I recall, and that is what my deletion summary was. I could look into it later (or e-mail you the text if you specify an e-mail address) but I don't think I would have deleted it if it didn't need to be completely rewritten.
