WP:NOTNEWS. I'm normally an inclusionist, but this'll be forgotten about in a month. The Drover's Wife (talk) 15:57, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep:Notable criminal event relating to the war on the Islamic State and its knock-on in Australia. Resulted in a fatality and two woundings and caused security heightening at a major sporting event. '''tAD''' (talk) 23:57, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- How is this notable? People get stabbed every day, this one got marginally more interest than the others, but it's something absolutely nobody will remember in even six months. The Drover's Wife (talk) 06:13, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Retain an attack against police and a subsequent shooting/killing is a very serious/notable issue. It is an ISIS inspired attack on Australian soil. 212.31.61.206 (talk) 15:25, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment on above - there is no concrete link that he was a member of ISIS and authorities will have to investigate if he were inspired by them. Other than that, you're right. Moreso, this was covered by pretty much every top-quality British newspaper and the BBC, showing impact on the other side of the world. I can draw a parallel that we have an article on the 2007 Glasgow International Airport attack, which again, only killed the perpetrator and led to security measures at public events afterwards. - Keep, sources indicate notability. Everyking (talk) 01:21, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Provisional Keep, I concur with the nominator that this will likely be forgotten in about three months once the news cycle has moved on, we'll probably be in a better position to gauge if this was just a flash in the pan WP:NOTNEWS case then. Lankiveil (speak to me) 08:10, 28 September 2014 (UTC).[reply]
- I have no problem with that. If nothing comes from the inevitable research by authorities into Haider, this will be little more than a man killed by authorities after attacking them '''tAD''' (talk) 16:34, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
