• Keep -Instead of Wikilawyering lets use our common sense. The individual in question was arrested under UK terrorism legislation (I would consider that makes them quite notable!) and furthermore caused public debate over "academic freedom" which is still raging on the Times Higher Education [1]. • Keep While I don't think him being arrested in the UK for terrorism makes him notable, an internet search finds that he is written about in several news sources and is hence notable. Single events, if notable, are covered in wikipedia. I think policy is that if people are notable only for 1 event, then its preferable to have an article about them and that event rather than a biography article.   Not one of those three news cites does more than mention this person, and there's certainly nothing there to write a biography from. • Merge both Rizwaan Sabir and Hicham Yezza either to a new article or a new section in Terrorism Act 2000. It should also be mentioned and linked in University of Nottingham. This was a serious story that caused real concern in the UK and chaos at the University of Nottingham. There is definitely an article, or at least a decent sized section, in this incident and its ramifications, but not two biographies. The author has cast it wrong but the content is definitely notable, mostly well referenced, and usable if cleaned up and recast correctly. --DanielRigal (talk) 20:18, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

• Keep -- The excessive urge to merge represents a serious danger to the value and utility of the wikipedia. Mergists seriously undervalue the "what links here" feature. When there are multiple logical targets to which an article could be merged I regard this as a strong argument for retaining the article. That is the case here. People are suggesting merging the article to Terrorism Act 2000. It makes just as much sense (and as little) to merge it to Manchester manual. Mergists fail to understand that the wikimedia software's support of bidirectional linking -- the "what links here" feature -- is one of things wherefrom the wikipedia derives its real power. If articles are kept small, and focussed on just one topic, when one clicks on an article's "what links here", the list one is shown really are related to the topic one is interested in. But, when mergist have their way, and manage to shoehorn multiple related topics into articles, the usefulness of the "what links here" feature is seriously eroded. • Comment -- I find nominator's suggestion that the article be merged with the University of Nottingham is a surprising one. Our nominator seems to be repeating an assertion I have seen asserted elsewhere -- an assertion I personally regard as questionable. Namely, that an article shouldn't be considered a biographical article if it doesn't include information like, birthdate, education, marraiges, children.
