List of United States Presidents by longevity[edit]

I put this up a month ago, and it came back as no consensus. As such, I'm putting back up so maybe one could be reached this time. The list itself violates WP:NOT#STATS, and is redundant to List of United States Presidents by age, which is sortable. Keep The work on creating a unified table is incomplete. Let the team working on the project decide when its time to delete them down to one copy. The sort function is still not working. Its treating the numerical sort as an alphanumerical sort still. Many kinks still need to be worked out. Sort on a numerical column and you will see its goes 2,000 1,000 100 900 800. And if you read [:WP:NOT#STATS]], It says that there should be no raw statistics without sufficient explanatory text, not that there should be no statistics. A reference work without statistics is useless. When the work is complete, there will be one table and all the explanatory text from all three articles. Delete this time around, there is no information presented in this list that is not also given under List of United States Presidents by age, which as has been stated is sortable and thus serves perefctly well as a "list by longevity". Gosh, there's an active and productive effort on the talk pages of these articles to address this. So why drag it through AfD? Why not let the merge discussion run its course? And if you feel that List of United States Presidents by age is superior (and I do, I created it!) why not participate in the merge discussion? Just as a clarifier, I created LoUSPba as an attempt at compromise after the 2nd or 3rd AfD between people who felt a list only about longevity was not encyclopedic enough, and those that felt the information was encyclopedic. Given time (and support at merge discussions) I could create sortable tables for many longevity lists, and we'd have a compromise that would be satisfactory to everyone. The sortable tables are more complicated than you might expect, so it does take time, but if people identify other lists like this that could benefit from sortability, notify me on my talk and I'll add it to my to-do list. --JayHenry 05:19, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
