Fails WP:EVENT. Independent references I found seem to only cover the initial announcement. Citations given in the article do not even mention the subject. Tagged for notability since December 2011, for citations since April 2012. PROD declined in July 2012, with explanation "need more time to find sources"; the user has no other contributions. Delete - Any significant information and sources are likely kept to Anonymous members and it appears that the event never received (or not yet) significant coverage. Google News provided insignificant mentions, the first link appears to be an insignificant mention and the second link claims that Anonymous hacked 10,000 Iranian government emails. This link provides information about the event's founder and a speech. This appears to be the only relevant evidence of third-party sources, most of the article's links are simply YouTube Anonymous videos. SwisterTwister talk 02:00, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Delete There is no reliable reference that such an operation named "Operation Iran" does exist. One might want to ascribe it to the clandestine and obfuscative nature of "Anonymous". SirAppleby (talk) 09:51, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Delete/Merge Only one of the sources above is recent, reliable, and actually referring to Operation Iran. I do believe there's useful information in here, but it should either go in the Anonymous article, where it hardly seems to be mentioned, or in an Iran-related article, or both. It's worth mentioning here that there's probably an opportunity to start an article about cyber warfare in general against Iran, which would make a rich and interesting topic, in which the 'Operation Iran' material could be included.
