The result was keep. Noting also that the nominator has withdrawn their nomination and there are no other arguments for deletion or redirection. Malcolmxl5 (talk) 13:10, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I’m somewhat on the fence about this article. On one hand, he may be notable in his home country, but his claim to fame might also be his more-famous wife. The normal criteria in NHORSERACING is wins at the Group 1 or Grade 1 level; that or having other claims to fame that meet GNG. Just winning a bunch of races usually doesn’t cut it. The only source is in Norwegian. My gut is to merge with his wife’s article, but given that Norway isn’t exactly the bright center of world horse racing, perhaps he was quite remarkable for where he lived. - Keep It would have been difficult for Dahl to satsify the Group 1 / Grade 1 criteria - the European pattern wasn't extended to Scandinavia until fairly recently and no G1 race has ever been run there, and I can't recall many runners from Norway or Sweden outside their home countries generally. Looking around, Dahl trained one horse who thrived in the US, now mentioned in the article, and was clearly a big fish in a small pond. Hard to find anything online to support the claim, but it does appear he was the most successful trainer in Norway's horse racing history. --Bcp67 (talk) 12:40, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
