The result was no consensus. My review of the references is that after the newspaper article he's probably notable, but as at least one editor mentioned, the afd has become a bit jumbled. I am able to sort it out, but I'm concerned that some readers may not have. So, no consensus, renominate if so inclined. Oh, and the author would be well-advised to reference the Wired.com article here as well; it's currently missing. Xymmax So let it be written So let it be done 13:06, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't appear to meet notability requirements. IMDB pages are self-promotion. Eeekster (talk) 00:45, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Travis Gordon is a notable webseries director, even putting the IMDB references aside, He's won a Bronze Remi for a Dramatic Short at the 2008 WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival for a short called Revelation (there's a reference to the winners list), the webseries he writes and directs (Spellfury) has been featured on Tubefilter.tv, which looks to be the top site for reviewing webseries'. Also Spellfury is the top rated show on the webseries directory Visioweb.tv (4.59 out of 5 rating). I believe this makes him notable. There is also the article in wired.com and ain't it cool news that make him notable. Also added the special showpage given to Spellfury on Youtube to confirm notability http://www.youtube.com/show/spellfury it's listed with traditional TV shows in the shows section of youtube. Showzampa (talk) 17:18, 21 June 2010 (UTC) Added reference on his page of the over a million views on youtube for his channel tbonepearson, over 450,000 of those are of Spellfury the webseries. Showzampa (talk) 17:48, 21 June 2010 (UTC) Spellfury is a notable webseries therefore Travis Gordon (The writer/director) is a notable webseries director Please look at the webseries list of notable webseries' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Web_television_series [12] and look at the definition of a webseries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_series [13] and then look at the references and mentions in the Spellfury wiki and you will see that Mr.Gordon is notable Showzampa (talk) 20:35, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Changing to keep per todays new ref GtstrickyTalk or C 17:59, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at: WP:BIO "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject."

Gtstricky Are you saying that wired.com, Ain't It Cool News and tubefilter aren't reliable secondary sources independent of the subject?

Also on notability of Mr.Gordon and his webseries: Important Youtube has given Spellfury it's own special showpage at[[1]], these can't be created by the public, "the guild" has also been given this honor, but notable webseries like "legend of neil" and "riese the series" don't have them. It allows The guild and Spellfury to come up in the listings of traditional television shows, Youtube has deemed Spellfury notable because of the strong viewership of the series and fanbase. Remember we're discussing whether or not Spellfury is a notable "webseries", not a tv show. Showzampa (talk) 14:46, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FINALLY someone agrees with me about wired.com being reputable: (this is from the Spellfury wiki but It is tied to Mr.Gordon being notable)

The wired.com article works. tubefilter and ain't it cool news will review anything if you email them and ask them. Gtstricky Talk or C 15:16, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Comment Thank You Gstricky, Thank Goodness someone around here has heard of Wired.com, they're an extremely reputable site. My only trouble is with your statement "tubefilter and Ain't It Cool News will review anything if you email them and ask them" you don't back that up with any facts or even an explanation.

I don't see that information on the wiki pages for those sites, I dare you to try and put that fact on their pages :) From my experience I would TOTALLY disagree with you, I've been reading those 2 "notable" and reputable websites for years. the only way anyone will get published on those sites is if the editor deems you "notable". Many a webseries or individual would give they're eyeteeth for a review on either of those sites. The web traffic from being mentioned on one of those sites is HIGHLY sought after and valuable. Comment Because Mr.Gordon's wiki is tied to the notablility of the webseries Spellfury, these are "Keep" posts on the "article deletion" page on Spellfury, as of today they far outnumber the deletes:

Keep The Wired article and Ain't It Cool News article mention it sufficiently. Dream Focus 18:02, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Keep Keep It could use work but the core article is useful and relevant.--Modelmotion (talk) 23:01, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Gtstricky, I mentioned in my comment that the 4 keep votes under it are from the Spellfury "article deletion" page, I'm assuming the closing admin is going to read the entire page. Showzampa (talk) 15:41, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added today's Full Page Newspaper Article on Spellfury the webseries and about how Mr.Gordon came up with the idea and executed it. [2] To further prove Notability Showzampa (talk) 15:47, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
