Operator: J Milburn

Automatic or Manually assisted: Automatic

Programming language(s): AWB

Source code available: No.

Function overview: Remove redundant Category:Fungus stubs from many articles

Edit period(s): One time run, possibly a couple of runs, depending on how long it takes

Estimated number of pages affected: 3,000ish

Exclusion compliant (Y/N): No, unless AWB is automatically?

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Yes.

Function details: Category:Fungus stubs is added as a direct category to several thousand pages, which is redundant to the fact that the articles almost always use a genuine stub template. I'd simply set AWB to run through the articles in the category and remove the direct usage, skipping any where there is not a stub tag. I could then manually add a stub tag to those afterwards as appropriate, if there are any. This will help clear the stub category, help with stub formatting consistency and so on. It has been requested here, and I've notified the fungi WikiProject (of which I am an active member) here. J Milburn (talk) 20:45, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
