Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate):
Edit period(s): sporadically as needed, daily at first
Estimated number of pages affected: about 90, 000 (not going to do them all at once, probably about 250-500 at a time so I can review)

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): N
Function details: Eventually I would like to do many things with this bot but I am going to start off with some simple WikiProject template replacements.
Now that WikiProject United States is supporting some of the other US related WikiProjects there are currently 0 articles with deprecated banners here. I want to start replacing these with the WikiProject United States banner and the appropriate parameter.
I am going to start by going one project at a time and starting with the easy ones such as non article namespaces (category, template, project, etc). This will help to cut down some of this category.
Since there are several bots that do this type of replacement the precedent is already there.
Just to be clear, this BRFA will be restricted to WikiProject templates only (if you want to extend this in the future, you'll need to file another brfa) Approved for trial. Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Come back when you have a reasonable sample of the bots edits. --Chris 12:44, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
