Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: automatic

Programming language(s): Python

Source code available: Standard Pywikibot

Function overview: Find-and-replace templates where there is a consensus to do so.

Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): None that I'm aware of, although I'm sure others have done something similar in the past.

Edit period(s): As needed

Estimated number of pages affected: About 2000 at first

Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): Yes

Already has a bot flag (Yes/No): No

Function details: This bot would find-and-replace templates. For example, currently ((en icon)) needs to be replaced with (in English) per a TfD outcome. This bot would do so. Right now, I have Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2020_February_23#remaining_link_language_wrappers in mind, which would be no more than 2000-ish pages. Substing the templates would be inadequate, as many of these are in references, where substing does not work.

Denied. As mentioned, there are a plethora of bots that are capable of handling this sort of task, from the mundane substitution to the more complex replacements. Primefac (talk) 19:53, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
