The article makes no mention of the person being Ashkenazi, so it would not be appropriate to also merge to the other parent Ashkenazi Jews. - Oppose. While these jobs are certainly related in some ways, they're fundamentally different things — a surveyor goes out and physically surveys the land, while a topographer sits in an office analyzing the results of the surveyor's work. Bearcat (talk) 21:52, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose -- They are not the same. If they have to be merged the target should be Category:Topographic surveyors but that would be a subset of surveyors.
