  1. Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) is a science fiction media franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and owned by Square Enix (formerly Square). The franchise centers on a series of fantasy and science fantasy role-playing video games (RPGs). The eponymous first game in the series, published in 1987, was conceived by Sakaguchi as his last-ditch effort in the game industry; the title was a success and spawned sequels. The video game series has since branched into numerous other genres, and has been commercially and critically successful; it is Square Enix's best selling video game franchise, with more than 130 million units sold, and is one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time.

This featured topic was successfully renominated in 2018 after Final Fantasy XV was brought up to GAN. Now, following a question about the topic's validity due to Final Fantasy XVI not being a GA after three months following release, it has been successfully brought through the GAN process. This nomination is to re-complete the topic, which has seen recent maintenance from various editors across the Video Game and Square Enix WikiProjects. Thank you to all who decide to weigh in on this. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:27, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
