76th Academy Awards[edit]

76th Academy Awards (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Nominator(s): Birdienest81 (talk) 21:16, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am nominating the 2004 Oscars for featured list because I believe it has great potential to become a Featured List. I read the requirements and criteria. I also followed how the 1929, 2000, 2009, 2010, and 2012 Oscars were written. Birdienest81 (talk) 21:16, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

*"...since the 72nd Academy Awards in 2000". I have a problem with this phrase. LAst paragraph you used "the 62nd ceremony held in 1990 and last hosted the 72nd ceremony held in 2000." Perhaps needs rewording.
  • Link Jell-O
  • "On the show itself, he quipped that..." you used "quipped" once, may another verb be used?
  • "the ceremony won one of those nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Variety or Music Program (Louis J. Horvitz)." -> It would be better ro say that Horvitz won it or received it.
  • In ref 10, both "Entertainment Weekly (TimeWarner)" are overlinked
  • In refs 16, 24 the same as above.
  • "He wears a beige and white striped shirt underneath bacl and charcoal striped jacket." What does "bacl" means?
  • "A picture of a man with wavy black-hair". Penn's hair is not black in the image.
  • "A blonde-haired woman is seen sporting...". English is not my first language, so I don't know if "sporting" is synonym of "wearing", because I only find that it means or refers to sports, red-light districts, prostitution or gambling.
  • Steve Johnson and Harold Wheeler go to DAB pages

These are some issues I found. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 21:47, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Fixed: I have fixed everything plus some other grammar/spelling errors (BTW, sporting does mean wearing, but I changed it to avoid further confusion).

Comments -
  • List of presenters and performers: First two words of the section heading could go.
  • In several entries, "Segment" should be decapitalized.
  • Liv Tyler: Capitalize "song".
  • Critical reviews: I don't think another tape delay link is needed here, since there's one in the last section.
  • Ratings and reception: 18-49 needs an en dash to replace the hyphen.
  • In the reference publishers, shouldn't there be a space in TimeWarner?
  • All caps in refs 19 and 37 should be removed. Giants2008 (Talk) 23:40, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Fixed: I have fixed everything you requested.
