I believe this is ready for FL status, or will be after things I missed are pointed out. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:17, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • There should be refs to an individual player's BR page. I know that there is a general BR ref in the External Links section, but it doesn't mention what team or position a player was when he won the award (i.e. the two other bits of info in the table that need to be sourced). —Bloom6132 (talk) 05:32, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Moyer has been a free agent for more than a month now. Doesn't that qualify him as being non-active? Or does he actually have to retire first before he is no longer designated as an active player? —Bloom6132 (talk) 17:34, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • He has publicly stated that he isn't retired, and is working on finding another job with any organization that will sign him. I'd consider him active until he says otherwise. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:42, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • "the former major league baseball..." shouldn't it be Major League Baseball, to be consistent with the one before?
  • I assume one of the external links is referencing the table? Currently it appears nothing is so would move whatever is referencing the table to a general ref and then have the rest of the refs under a header saying specific

    • Fixed the MLB issue. As for referencing the table, I'll do what Bloom6132 suggested soon, which will properly reference each award winner. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:51, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Refs added for every row of the table. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:42, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • "player who best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire of Fred Hutchinson." - Perhaps a bit of clarification: for playing through illness? That's what the recipients you single out did.
    • I'd say "adversity", since a number of them played through injuries, which I wouldn't consider an illness. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:45, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "1965 in honor of Hutchinson, the former MLB pitcher and manager, who died of lung cancer in November 1964, at the age of 45." - that's cramming a lot of info. How about "was created in 1965 to honor Hutchinson, a former MLB pitcher and manager who had died of lung cancer the previous year"
  • I've done a copyedit, be sure to check. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:43, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • "the fighting spirit and competitive desire " this is a little NPOV, I guess it's a quote, so put it in quotes and ref it.
  • "KDKA-AM;" seems to be called "KDKA" in our own article.
    • My bad, didn't notice that was a redirect. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:44, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "including Mickey Mantle, the inaugural winner" reads a little odd to me, of course the inaugural winner would be included. Maybe, "the inaugural winner being Mickey Mantle."?
    • That was meant to mean that Mantle is a HOFer, not just a winner. Damn English language vagaries. I reworded it. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:51, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "To date..." we normally put a real date on that.
    • Yeah. I removed it entirely since I don't think it's necessary. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:44, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "1987–present" sorry, could you just check at WP:DASH if this should be spaced or not? I can't remember (because the range is a number to a word).
    • Not explicitly stated (number to word), but I'm pretty sure it's right. #1 says "In ranges that might otherwise be expressed with to or through", and this is "1987 to present" – Muboshgu (talk) 18:44, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't like "Baseball awards #United States" at all. If you wish to link this, pipelink it more elegantly.

  • "The permanent display of the Hutch Award trophy" what do the recipients get to keep?
    • I don't know. I haven't seen anything to say they get anything. I'll look again and report back. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:51, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I haven't found anything on this. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:02, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Scratch that. They get a trophy designed by Dale Chihuly. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:41, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • External links shouldn't use ((cite web))
  • Categories should be sorted in alphebitcal order

TBrandley 21:50, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Categories alphabetized. As to the use of ((cite web)) in the External link section, Wikipedia:EL#External_links_section doesn't forbid it, it merely tells editors who do it to use caution to be sure the description of the page is sufficient. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:02, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
