List of cricketers who have carried the bat in international cricket[edit]

List of cricketers who have carried the bat in international cricket (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

An interesting list. Given that we have only 10 cricketers performing this "feat" outside of Test cricket, I thought it's best to have all the three combined. Look forward to comments and suggestions. Vensatry (ping) 16:43, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support – Only two queries:

  • I've tidied these up a little bit. Harrias talk 15:43, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • "a batsman ending up scoring" not keen on "ending up", not even sure it's necessary.
  • Image caption needs a full stop.
  • "he made 206 against England" when?
  • "A total of five ..." No real need for "A total of" here.
  • "thrice" a bit archaic, three times is more standard.
  • "and English cricketer" you've already said "cricketer", perhaps Englishman?
  • "occasion where a player made centuries on two occasions" repetitive prose.
  • "more number of times" missing something here, either it should be something like "more than any other country" and that would be better if you said "Batsmen from Australia have ... more than ..." etc, or else a different reword is needed.
  • "to achieve this" would be better to reinforce "to carry his bat" rather than "achieve this"
  • " is the most recent cricketer" in Test cricket, so make sure that's noted.
  • " 84-in Zimbabwe's total of 205-against " if these are supposed to be spaced en-dashes, make them such!
  • "the following year" -> The following year.
  • "scoring 63 runs" I would add a comma before this clause and also note how many runs the Windies scored in total, for context.
  • Not sure the M of Match needs to be capitalised for Test matches. In fact, for consistency across the table captions, you could just have Tests.
  • You have Tied in the key but it's not used anywhere.
  • Innings 21, Kingston is a dab.
  • I've not seen W.A.C.A. with full stops before...
  • Russel Arnold has only one l in his first name.
  • Ref 7, shouldn't the surname come first, per the other such refs?

That's it for me, fundamentally a very good list, which needs a few minor tweaks. Good work. The Rambling Man (talk) 09:25, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Think I've fixed all. Thanks for the comments Vensatry (ping) 18:52, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OLINK explicitly states "names of major geographic features and locations" are not usually linked, especially when "they are [not] particularly relevant to the topic of the article".—indopug (talk) 19:14, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, it states only major locations. Since I've not added the names of the countries, it's worth linking the cities. Vensatry (ping) 19:40, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Harrias, The Rambling Man, Indopug, and ChrisTheDude: Guys, requesting you to re-visit the nomination. Vensatry (ping) 19:47, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
