The Commons deletion request regarding BBC logos was decided and the logos were kept on the Commons. The font is old enough to be in the public domain and the main logos were used since the 1960's to where any kind of copyrightability is over. Does not bear resemblence to Public Transport Victoria sign for Ballarat station, Public Transport Victoria signage on regional trains is in this style, nearly identical to the former Viclink signage (an example).
